Oh for goodness sake, epidemics (and pandemics) are regularly discussed by the people whose job it is to plan for such contingencies, and any "predictions" they happen to make that actually come to pass are due to nothing other than coincidence. There have always been viral outbreaks, throughout history. Nothing about the latest one is actually novel, or unique.

No. If you look throughout all of human history we have been plagued (no pun intended) by viruses etc. Usually every one hundred years there is a major outbreak.
Looking at the work he has done with Hiv, ebola etc you would assume he would be prepared for a massive outbreak and predicting when the next one occurs.
