And they are now firing these people when they are needed, and they will not be able to get unemployment because they refused to get vaccinated. The military is giving soldiers a dishonorable discharges for refusing to get vaccinated. What has happened to freedom of choice in the US? Ask yourself this question, you are hospitalized and you have to undergo an emergency surgery. The doctor has tested positive for COVID, would you like him/her operating on you? You have the right to own arms, then why don't you go around shooting a bunch of people? If you don't have a vax you have to get tested for Covid regularly so they won't be working on you if they have Covid. And in case you have no clue fully vaccinated people are getting Covid too. The ACA did a number on us here, before it took effect. I could get into the doctor within a few days, once that passed and gave more people insurance. It is now a month or two. With the loss of medical staff, I had to make my December appointment in September.
The ACA and the government didn't bother to actually increase medical professionals when they gave more people insurance and thus access to health care. Now they want to decrease that number even more.
Liberals think insurance is healthcare, but its not... doesn't matter if 100% of people have insurance if there isn't enough healthcare professionals to service them.

I live in a semi Rural Area, grew up extremely rural and the state actually pays for peoples education to become doctors here, they have to sign a contract though that they will setup their practice in small towns and stay there for 5 or 10 years, depending on the contract.
It is one way we've tried to get more healthcare professionals, free education but you have to commit to being in some small town. We do that for school teachers as well.

Mainly because people who are not vaccinated are a danger to others, including those who are vaccinated, since the vaccinations are incomplete solutions, unfortunately. Would you like to be in a hospital and have a nurse who has Covid? How about a surgeon operating on you and he has Covid? Freedom of choice does not mean that you are free to endanger others.
The thing is these people are required to be tested every couple of weeks if they are not vaccinated. You have more to fear from your standard hospital infections than Covid. More people get infections in hospitals then those not patients in one.
They are not tested daily, and we don't know the actual time period between becoming infected and becoming contagious. Testing is expensive and time-consuming, and not 100% valid.

People should get vaccinated after consulting with their primary care physician (s), if they're medically able to do so. However, people probably can't be forced or coerced to to comply either. I state "probably", because the Supreme Court will issue a decision soon enough.

If nurses are irresponsible with infections and are spreading diseases, they shouldn't be in contact with our most vulnerable. They can cause more lives than they save. This is also nothing new, nurses always get additional vaccinations.
