I think that it certainly has its place in the fight against greenhouse gases. It doesn't have to be the complete solution but it can certainly be a big part of it.
I find it hilarious that the same leftist activists who were predicted mankind's doom from nuclear power are now claiming that global warming will kill us all and that nuclear power is a viable solution.
Is it any wonder why we don't take the leftists seriously?
If and only if it is combined with a very large effort for sustainable energy in the short-term with large investments there. There needs to be large change in the energy mix as soon as possible. Waiting 25 years on nuclear power is useless.
If youβre serious about the environment this is the only viable alternative right now. Most of the meltdowns that have happened have been easily avoidable.
Only if the waste can be safely rocketed into the Sun for disposal, not buried in the desert, caves, mountains, salt mines or dumped in the oceans, burn it up in the Sun.
Are you dumb? Rocket it into the sun? Lmfao thats just a bullshit excuse to be against nuclear energy please educate yourself and learn a little bit of science π€¦π€¦π€¦
@vald9inches , hey ass wipe, Iβm not against nuclear energy, Iβm against the current system of nuclear waste storage, fucking grow up little child.
You said you will only support nuclear energy "only if the waste can be safely rocketed into the sun for disposal" which will never be economical or safe EVER! You are either against nuclear energy or extremely uneducated good day sir!
@vald9inches , why wouldnβt it be safe? We send rovers to the far reaches of the solar system, probes to the outer limits of the galaxy which costs billions, it wouldnβt be much to build rockets to take nuclear waste to incinerate in the Sun.
Think about it for a moment please... You will be launching hundreds of complicated rockets that uses extremely volatile rocket fuel and loading it with tons of radioactive waste and lunching it into space above everyone's heads... Geee i wonder WHAT COULD GO WRONG?
Coal and gas would act be a thousand times more expensive if the true cost of all the externalities of the environment and negative health effects were factored into the equation but for some reason people conveniently forget about that part... π€¦
I was just correcting you when you said that nuclear is dangerous and expensive because they are actually not dangerous or expensive at all when compared to all of our other energy options until we get fusion working that is π
Like I said I wasn't making comparisons but if you want to go there sure nuclear isn't as dangerous as coal but it's more dangerous than solar and wind so π
So cars are expensive as well but if you want to have the ability to drive around you need a car? If you want to power a society you need cheap electricity and nuclear power plants provide that? Just because you throw numbers around and say it cost billions doesn't make it more expensive?
everything you said is wrong. statiscly speaking its the safest in terms of deaths. exspansive, but in terms of cost/energy is is exsreamly efficent end thus economicly viable. You only need a few wrokers compared too all the the ones you would need in comperad to wind to produce the same amout of energy
You would have to be mentally retarded not to be in favor of nuclear energy. Out of all the other types of on demand energy production it is the least destructive and least polluting and has killed the least amount of people by a huge margin
Of course. Right now it's the cleanest energy we could have. Wind and solar are even close in terms of energy produced. Unless you consider that ravaging thousands of kms of nature is acceptable to produce as much energy as a nuclear plant does.
Well I don't realy believe in man-made global warming but that said nuclear is bar none the most efficient way to produce electricity. Also the most reliable. So I personally think it should be heavily invented into especially thorium based reactors
Yes. In terms of safety, eco-friendliness and efficiency, it's the best option until we find something better. But we definitely need to continue to invest in new technologies and further research.

No. There are better alternative and we must revive Nikolai Tesla's technology. Solar and other options. But anything that pollutes less is better.
Nuclear fission as something temporary yes.
Nuclear fusion as the future energy for humanity absolutely!
Nuclear power for sure. They do need to modernize the technology to lower the risk of a negative event
Be pushin' that coal till the day I die
You a Tennessee Ernie guy?
If youβre serious about the environment this is the only viable alternative right now. Most of the meltdowns that have happened have been easily avoidable.
We donβt have a way to dispose of the nuclear waste so not yet.
That said fusion is the future

Not in favour. They're incredibly dangerous, expensive to build and maintain, produces radioactive waste and is limited.
Coal and gas would act be a thousand times more expensive if the true cost of all the externalities of the environment and negative health effects were factored into the equation but for some reason people conveniently forget about that part... π€¦
@vald9inches I wasn't suggesting gas was better.
I was just correcting you when you said that nuclear is dangerous and expensive because they are actually not dangerous or expensive at all when compared to all of our other energy options until we get fusion working that is π
@vald9inches I wasn't comparing. Just stating a fact. Nuclear plants cost billions to build.
Yes as was i, they are not expensive or dangerous
@vald9inches except they are.
Like I said I wasn't making comparisons but if you want to go there sure nuclear isn't as dangerous as coal but it's more dangerous than solar and wind so π
In terms of what? Generating electricity? Because if you want the cheapest source of electricity they are very cheap
@vald9inches I literally said... "Expensive to build and maintain" "nuclear plants cost billions to build"
Yes nuclear is 3 times more dangerous than solar and wind but thats like saying rabbits are more dangerous than guinea pigs lol
So cars are expensive as well but if you want to have the ability to drive around you need a car? If you want to power a society you need cheap electricity and nuclear power plants provide that? Just because you throw numbers around and say it cost billions doesn't make it more expensive?
Its expensive for you to build it sure but its not expensive for a country to build it
@vald9inches you're taking this way out of context. Goodnight sir.
Goodnight or morning lol

Yes, statistically, it is one of the safest, if not the safest source of energy right now. Also, it's one of the most efficient source of energy.
You would have to be mentally retarded not to be in favor of nuclear energy. Out of all the other types of on demand energy production it is the least destructive and least polluting and has killed the least amount of people by a huge margin

I am in favour of nuclear power
I would invest in uranium ore right now if I dealt with non-tangible assets
I have seen a nuclear power plant close up. Some of the stuff you see Homer Simpson do actually happens.
Yes I am 🙂
Yes. In terms of safety, eco-friendliness and efficiency, it's the best option until we find something better. But we definitely need to continue to invest in new technologies and further research.
God yes.🤓🤩 Yes.
Our saviour ,🙏🙏🙏😈😈😈
absolutely. cause it is still the most green energy that we have in terms of climate changing emissions.
people who are in favor of wind and solar forget that it takes a lot to produce and maintain those. the emission from nuclear is litterally water.
