Why do drug dealers get more time in prison than pedophiles and sex offenders?

With drug dealers it’s often more than just doing drugs.
they also have firearms, weapons, tax.
a build up of charges.

with sex offenders, it’s usually just the one offence.
when it’s more than one, then more serious sentences are handed out.

it’s a bit like death by reckless driving, killing someone with your car, never had a prison sentence. Now it has but it’s still a low sentence.

Probably political. For example in USA the Republicans have been using anti drug laws to target minority races ever since it became socially unacceptable to do it on purely racist grounds. Kinda a way to get the same results while pretending you are just concerned about justice.

They want drug dealing networks to collapse on the outside during the prison sentence

Nonces and other sex offenders will probably die in jail or have a terrible time between razor blade in the soap, ground glass in the food and the beatings and such

However, from what I understand. The probability of those types of criminals to even make it out of prison alive? Is very low.

Usually Once a pedophile is foud out in prison they do not survive that long for the most part. It seems that crimes against children ore not liked amoung prisoners

Drug dealers usually have more charges on their hands than just dealing drugs like, smuggling, illegal weapons, murder, assault etc. Thats why they usually get a longer jail time.
