There are way more women based shelters than man based shelters so while there is technically an equal amount of homeless men to women, women find it easier to get a roof on their head so are less likely to be on the street.

Quite a complicated question.

first off, their are for some situations more resources available for girls.

Organisations that help the homeless and the police etc, recognise that a homeless girl is likely another rape, murder waiting to happen and help prevent it more than with a guy.

Then you start getting in to how women will more likely sofa surf with friends more than guys, also a girl is likely to be taken in by a family to sofa surf than a guy is, ditto with say someone with accommodation that knows the homeless person, a girl is more likely to be taken in by both guy n girl flat / house owners.

then when you look at one of major causes of being homeless, it’s usually linked to mental health issues. Girls are far more likely (really high say circa 75% more) to get counselling than a guy will, as it’s not a guy thing to do.

the last bit I believe is the biggest reason.

Also I think teen sons are more likely to have issues that result in them leaving family home (by choice or forced out).

Maybe out of the need to survive they are willing to put up with any man who will take care of them financially, so they don't have to be homeless. Or maybe it's rare to see homeless women on the street because there are multiple services available for women to get shelter for safety reasons.

Homeless women are not rare, per se. They make up about a third of all homeless. But it's still a valid question.

The answer is simple. Society cares more about women (and children) and takes better care of them. Homeless women are seen as victims that deserve compassion and help, whereas homeless men are viewed as broken, worthless and a waste or resources. There are far more resources available to help women than men at virtually every level.

This is one of many reasons why the rate suicide is four times greater among men than women. The simple minded among us say that "men just don't ask for help". The reality is that men just don't get help, even when they seek it.

There are many more shelters for women than there are for men. Even though men built almost all of society, fought and died defending people, etc. society generally doesn't care about men and would let them die, but continually protects women.

Plus all a woman has to do is be moderately attractive and be a good nice person and she can find a guy that will take care of her, but men can't do the same.

Because society caters to women, it provides and protects women.
There are endless shelters, funding, housing, etc for women only.
There is also endless funding for female mental health, support for their issues and abuse.
Men literally get little to none of that.

Women also get almost everything in divorce and society doesn’t care if that means pulling the rug right out from under a mans feet.

Society is also set up to destroy men. It sees us as disposable.
