1/4 homeless people being women is a big problem and has to be solved.
It is what it is.

It's not that peoplydont acknowledge that there are homeless men it's just that much more dangerous for a women to be homeless. People might take advantage of you, you always have to be careful about where you go and who you talk to cause it's very easy to make you disappear if you know what I mean. And in most countries pad are a privilege not a necessity so they don't hand them out so that makes periods even worse. There are just some issues that men who are homeless men might have not have or have it easier.
That didn't just affect the homeless, there was a woman on telly last week complaining that poor women can't afford sanitary towels, if you're parents work for minimum wage you can't go to school at that time of the month, so, you miss school, fail your exams and end up working for minimum wage like your parents. Women are using rolled up newspaper. Now food banks have started handing out sanitary towels, so it shouldn't be a problem any more.
I'm just wondering why gender really matters when it comes to homelessness.
Why is is better if a man is more likely to be homeless than a woman? or why is is more important that a woman is less likely to be homeless?
Why do you give a fuck how they worded? They are fucking homeless. Homeless people don't care about gender at that point.
Are you asking me or rhetorically?
whichever
Because I don't exactly get what it is that you're asking for? I mean, so you say what does it matter. Well, what does anything matter then?
I'm asking, perhaps it is rhetorical, why do you care how they worded the article? You can figure out by yourself that 3/4 men are homeless. In fact, I dont understand why gender and homeless even matter.
The issue here was that they worded it in such a way that implies that women being homeless is the real issue, whilst completely ignoring that the large majority of homeless people are men. I mean, in comparison: "A car ran off the road, hitting a tree. The passengers were the father, wife and their two daughters inside, they are all hospitalized now. Let's hope the father is okay."
I think the issue is not that they are homeless but that 3/4 of homeless are swept away as if inconsequential then single out the 1/4 of women as being more worthy of activism and action, screw the guys! It confirms the disposability of men that was always present but without the compensation men once received as societies mules and canon fodder. Now we just bleed out for a government that is the new husband to women and the redistribution of men’s money
Why not actually help solve homelessness as a whole instead of using it as a tool to promote feminist? @feminist hypocrites
Promote feminism *
So sexist that 25% women have to live on streets like that...
I blame patriarchy and toxic masculinity for this.
Indeed. Fuck all men.
I'm certain you're being facetious, but dang there's been so many times people will turn around and say exactly this kind of thing with deadly seriousness.
No. We fuck men with strapons. That's how we will be empowered
@AllThatSweetJazz 😅 ikr?
Hang on, strapons, this went in a peculiar direction very quickly haha
didn't you already post this? like 1 year ago? i guess it depends where you live... but where i live its stupid to complain about being homeless because of how much support there is in my city. You dont even have to spend a dime on food if you dont want to.
I'm pretty sure I haven't posted this. At least not to my memory.
perhaps someone else then
Feminists must fight for more representation of women among the homeless.
Golden comment.

1in4 women being homeless is a problem that should be a addressed. 3in4 men being homeless is also a problem that needs to be addressed
i voted a
sorry 1in4 homeless being women is a problem and 3in4 homeless being men is a problem
I think it's sad that this paper doesn't give a shit about the men who are homeless.
I wish I was born a girl sometimes. Being disposable sucks
There shouldn't be any homeless people, regardless of sex.
That's pretty naive
Why is that naïve?
To say that there shouldn't be homeless people is like saying that there shouldn't be criminals.
No, they're not. What I'm saying is that one should offer a way to get rid of the problem, not just state the obvious about how the problem shouldn't exist. We all know that it shouldn't.
But you didn't ask for a solution, you asked what I thought about the fact that one in four homeless people were women. And I said that I thought, which is that the gender of the homeless people don't matter to me so much as the fact that they are homeless, and that all in all I think that this is a bad thing.
If you had asked what I proposed to do with the fact that one in four homeless people were women, my answer would have been very different.
You didn't say that their gender didn't matter. All you said that there shouldn't be any homeless people, regardless of sex.
I agree. Unfortunately a large percentage of those homeless are people with mental health issues. At one time people who could not function without ongoing mental support were institutionalize. But with costs and a diagnoses of not being a danger to themselves or others saw a lot of them slip through cracks. I was shooting the shit with a homeless guy that hangs near my sisters place in Toronto. I’m a small town /farm boy and will talk to anyone and to an extent me and this guy are friends or at least cordial acquaintances and chat it up over a coffee whenever I’m in town. I asked him why he lived on the street when Canada’s social safety net would give him a place to live and even retraining to get a job He told me he has tried but he has a hard time keeping track of time and keeps missing his welfare appointment. He doesn’t blame anyone, he knows he’s mentally I’ll and takes some responsibility for his condition brought on by high levels of drug abuse induced schizophrenia. In a free society you can’t make them accept help but I can see the ease of making exceptions but benevolence forced on someone it a sign of a tyrannical government
In my home town, homelessness is everywhere and the shelters can only house so many, the woman unable to get in, sleep under bridges, in front of businesses, it's so sad.
It says a lot that not only is there more women in the world than men but significantly greater percentage of the homeless is male.
You would think there being more women in the world, there would be just as much if not more homeless women than men.
Just shows how women are more looked after
Homeless women suck up to single men so they can move in, they have to have sex with men they don't really fancy to avoid being outside in the rain and the snow.
The amount of self awareness that is laced by this newspaper perfectly demonstrates a flaw in society.
I'm hardly surprised that most homeless people are men.
Why is it more horrible that it's a woman than its a man
You remember that one time Hillary tried to make it sound like women are the primary victims of war because they are the ones who actually get to survive?
Nice tongue in cheek way to subliminally point out the controversial to acknowledge amongst the extreme feminist leaning media elephant in the proverbial room.
what do you think about the sad fact that three out of four homeless people are men?
I'm actually surprised that there are more men on the streets than women but then again after thinking about it there are less shelters and people that will help men as willingly as they'd help women.
Goes to show how women get a priority in some cases but not others.
I think everyone should be off of the streets to be honest whether by housing, lodging or anything of a similar nature.
People say "Oh, women are more likely to be taken advantage of." but at the same time so can men, they can't do anything about it because who'd believe a man that's homeless?
That's my current understanding of society that basically they only view women as weak in certain contexts but always view men as strong even if they are without a home and people say that strive for equality.
TThere should be no homeless people, male or female. Decedant rich bastards have holiday homes that they only use for a couple of weeks a year, we need to expropriate these holiday homes.
@yashjoy Owning a 2nd home is decedant, you deserve to have it expropriated. During the war when there was a food shortage we had rationing, now there's more than enough food, most people are obese, but, homes are in short supply, we need to ration them.
@Zee15 I presume you were born into a rich family with multiple homes. I hate rich people, why are people like the Queen, the Duke of Westminster, Donald Trump and Kim Kardashian born rich? Why are other people born dirt poor, capitalism's unfair, rich people are a cancer at the heart of society, just as a surgeon cuts a tumor out of a patients body to save his life so must the Red Guards eliminate the rich from society.
@Bezbozhnikustanka I'm not rich. I'm a actually middle class in a Third World country. I just like to put myself in other people's shoes.
@yashjoy No one should be slowed to own more than one home, their 2nd homes should be expropriated and given to someone who's actually going to live there. Rich people are decedant, we need to do something about it.
@yashjoy Do you even know what "expropriate" the means? It means to transfer ownership so it would no longer be your house, so, you wouldn't care what he did to it.
Dose it show a lack of knowledge and empathy for men?
Should be half-and-half, but honestly. I don't care who's homeless.
I think its sad that three out of four men are homeless.
Not equal enough!!! Make it 2 out 4!!! Equality!! It's even sadder for the guyes. 3 out 4 are guys...
Well, that sure is an interesting way to say three out of four people are men.
