Yes. From what I've seen, he has the good things about Trump and not as many of the faults. He definitely has the temperament for the job. He has a very strong personality, which conservatives need leading them, which has helped him to handle the media very well. He is disciplined, focused, and knowledgeable.
My main concern about him is that I don't know if he's ready for it. Yes, he has prior political experience in the Florida House before being governor. His military service is also a good spot for leadership. But still, he was basically a nobody until a year and a half ago. I've often said that from a national standpoint, he'd probably be better off starting out as vice president or attorney general and then going for president.
Even so though, as I said earlier, he's handled himself very well. And the results of his work in Florida will help him if he decides to put in for POTUS.
He has made Florida a beacon for anybody who wants to live as an American. He navigated the virus, using common sense methods like vaccinating the elderly first instead of shipping infected patients back into nursing homes or making getting vaccines a matter of race.. Florida now has one of the lowest covid infection rates in the counrty without having to shut down the economy
. When the nation's cities were in flames., Florida's cities were conspicuously quiet.
He has also gotten Critical race theory out of the public schools.

Ron DeSantis is my governor and I am extremely happy wth the job he has done as governor. I would hope that this means he would also make a good president but there is a much larger body of knowledge and skills required to be an effective president and I am concerned about his lack of experence at the national and international levels. I would prefer to see him as the VP candidate alongside Ted Cruz. My ideal candidate for the presidency would be Trey Gowdy but I don't expect that he will return to politics.
Ted Cruise will never get nomination because he refused to concede to Trump at convention
At present, he would be my first choice among recognizable names.
A caveat to that however, is that I don't know his stances on a couple issues that are extremely crucial that will absolutely play a role in my vote for the primary. He's also my first choice because there aren't really any other proactive Republican executives that are taking charge of their states, and the ones who are taking charge are really just riding DeSantis's coattails. Since the serious campaigning is still a couple years away, a lot could happen between now and then.
A governor is inherently more suited for the office of POTUS than a representative or senator. In fact even a mayor is too- these are actual positions of leadership and authority, unlike congressmen and senators who have essentially no authority and all of their power comes from a body at large than as individuals. An argument can be made for making one of those two types a good choice for VP due to the VP's role in the senate, who in turn becomes a prime candidate for president in a later election.
Our country NEEDS Donald Trump! Like him or not, that man as proven he can achieve great things for our country and there is no reason to think he cannot repeat his achievements. In fact, Trump is needed more today that he was in 2016. Our country is on the verge of collapse financially, socially, and economically. Further, we are no longer respected internationally, and the current president and his administration obviously have no interest in the security of our country. This is clear by the open border policy and utter weakness in dealing with other super-powers (China and Russia) and a fanatical extremist regime in Iran, all hell-bent on our destruction. Ron DeSantis has been good for Florida, but in fact has NO experience in dealing with the myriad of complicated issues Trump has already proven to have mastered. No offense meant to Ron DeSantis but is an Ivy league educated politician that has never worked a day in his life. He has been a career politician with ZERO business experience, unlike Trump who put to stellar business acumen to extensive use during his term in office, running the country more like a business executive than a politician. The results of his presidency speak for themselves, they were mostly excellent, except when the left and his disloyal appointees turned on him. And of course, the Fake news, a propaganda arm of the left, always hated him and did everything they could to discredit him, including their concocted narratives that have ALL proven to be false. Anyway, while DeSantis has done some good things in Florida, he gets WAY too much credit for recent success of the state, which is mostly a result of the housing boom, not political acumen. DeSantis, in my opinion, will likely never be a good choice for president!
No. At least, not yet. I don't even know much about him right now, other than he's the governor of Florida and very anti-Biden. I mean, that's good and all, but it's going to take more than common sense policies like resisting mandates to get me to vote for someone. That's why I said "not yet." I'd need to hear more from him first.
However, at this point, I'm not even sure I'm ever going to vote again anyway. Lest you all forget, Biden was never elected. ... But most of you seem to have forgotten that. What's even the point of voting when they'll just rig elections and pay off judges, anyway?
I would say he has done very well as a governor with Florida. How that would transition to the Presidential level is another story.
Personally, I would have to see what other candidates have for their policies before making a final decision, but DeSantis is a guy I could vote for.
Yeah, but he's a little more traditional republican than Trump. I'd be concerned he backs down from all the stuff he talks about and ends up another do-nothing republican. Maybe he's more palatable than Trump, but the point needs to be for someone to reject the political establishment and push to the right things. Trump didn't take shit from people, that's strength, but perhaps because his character narratives about him overwhelm people. With DeSantis, he's more chill and no one knows who he is, but if he can be that and still bring the same energy Trump did, I like his chances.
He is our govenor, I really was not for him. He is a Trump stooge, you would have laughed if you saw his advertisements he put on TV when he was running for govenor. He is a staunch anti-vaxxer. I much rather have Charlie Crist back as govenor. All I can say about DeSantis is he is better than the crooked motherfucker that is one of senators Rick Scott, the Medicare, Insurance fraud , Medical rip off fucker who became a millionaire, then govenor, then senator. I would not vote for DeSantis too Trumpy.
It would really depend on who runs against him. Personally I'm not a big fan, Im a constitutional conservative and I feel like people who are on the far right are corrupt. The far left as well. It's all about how they feel instead of what the constitution says. I'm going to go with the Republican 95% of the time. But if Tulsi gabbard was running against the Santos I would go with Tulsi.
I can't say definitively because I haven't looked into him enough, but from what I've seen, he seems like a decent candidate. I don't agree with everything I've seen, though.
He is running for Governor in 2022 and he will win. If he runs it wouldn't be until 2028.
Trump 75% to DeSantis 25%. DeSantis in debt for next 20 years. Trump eats Happy Meal at McDonalds
Trump interview today , "would you like a rematch with Hillary in 2024" ? Trump: I would love that to happen. Conclusion : It is Trump's show. DeSantis will not throw away is money running for President.
Yes I would. He has guts and common sense.
Typical R who think they can tell people what they want to hear and actually get votes. They never follow through on their bull.
He’s even less popular than Trump in right leaning opinion polling. So why should we?
Eh... I'm not sure I'd vote for anyone from Florida. To quote Family Guy "Florida is the south's trashcan".
Maybe.. i need to see. more. of him. I'm waiting. for him to drop the ball.
he's the opposite of a loony liberal so I love him
Definitely
He would make a good Vice President.
Yeah and I really hope he does run
No because he's a fucking COVID denier idiot. Fat gay greaseball dirty-ass I-talian...
