How would you react if your SO asked for a paternity test?

This question is obviously for ladies. If your husband or boyfriend asked for a paternity test after the birth of your child, would you be offended?

He thinks I'd lie to him. (this is your child)

He thinks I cheated on him.

Bf: I'd have him sign a paternal waiver since he doubts the kid is his and leave him never allowing him any contact with my kid.

Husband: I'd take the test & guilt him for the rest of the marriage for dinners, gifts, etc.

Either way most guys are manipulative deceivers so they'd probably just get the child's dna on the side and take the test.

Hopefully he wouldn't pay by cash so if it shows up on the credit or debit I'll just pick up & go boyfriend or husband.

So if he insisted on it, Id give him the paternity test, divorce his ass (cant live with someone who thinks I'm cheating when I'm obviously not), and just get the child support and move on.

me and an ex talked about this before. he said id give you a paternity test just to know that the kid is mine. its the worse thing to hear in the entire world. I was never or have been pregnant. Just to know that the person doesn't trust you its more hurtful than anything else

With respect those tests INCLUDE woman who have ADMITTED they don't know and are testing multiple partners. We do not have statistics on ONLY long term relationships. That also includes one night stands, same woman testing different father's which actually then is very low.

So yes in a COMMITED relationship yes I would be offended.

Paternity testing should be done at birth, as a matter of routine. The only people who'd have a problem with such a policy are unfaithful wives and girlfriends, why do we care what they think?

If it were performed routinely, it wouldn't be like the man in question is doubting your fidelity, it would be the state who wanted to establish true paternity for future potentialities. Such as hereditary disease.

I'd say it would be great if you had a record that proved the baby was your child.

You don't really need the woman for it if you have any legal standing with the kid. All you need is your DNA to match to the child's DNA. You don't need mom at all. So if you're the dad or have any official legal standing with the child, you should be able to get a paternity test without the mom ever knowing.

You can actually also figure out if something is amiss just from knowing your blood type, your woman's and the kids. Certain combinations are impossible if you're the father.
