How would you react to learning you have to kill your pet if you had covid?

I'm living in Chaina. How I felt about anything wouldn't mean shit to the

In the western world the hamster activists would hit the streets in protest. At home in China, I either kill my hamster or I'm going to spend the next 20 years in a Chinese prison. That's no fun at all.

I'd have a lot of questions and I wouldn't kill my pet. Simply because of how crazy a virus is from a science stand point. Also because it seems like one hell of a knee jerk reaction based on fear instead of knowledge.
