how about you?

how about you?
Depends on the animal. Most of them, I tend to playfully verbally tease. Other than bugs and rodent pests, I usually take some effort not to actually harm them. But food animals will get reminded that they're being raised for food. I'll act nice to them, but I'll tell them what I'm really thinking. After all, their usual response is something incoherent anyway.
To chickens: "Hey, Barbeque! Bawking a little early, huh? How's Soup Bird, over there? Kentucky Fry, wait your turn! Ah, there's the ISO Chicken! Have the others been treating you fairly? No? Guess I'll butcher you last. That'll teach them! But how will I cook you? I almost feel like we're becoming friends. It almost wouldn't seem right. But I can't be letting you get cancer either. Ah, a conundrum!"
To ducks: "Hello, pekins." (sinister grin) "So, any of you remember the answer to how hot the oven gets? It's on the quiz tomorrow. Come now, ducks! Chop chop! Drake, you answered 355? That's correct! Here's some food. So you can BE food. But... no pressure. Duck in the corner! What's your opinion of dill weed?"
To snakes: "Little serpentine! Yeah, no one's putting YOU on a plane!"
To small dogs: "Little Doge! Hey, hey, enough with the licks, you've made your point! You keeping those rabbits at bay? Yeah? You up for some dot-chasing yet?"
To cats: "Crazy cat-ten! Meow! What, got nothing to say?"
To groundhogs: "Allen! Allen! Alleeeeeen!!! This is not your property, groundhog!"
To flies: "Oh, fly! Landing there was a HUGE mistake! I hope you like the taste of WINDEX!!!"
To centipedes: "Hi, little centipede! You're an intriguing one. But this isn't your home. Here, this jar will take you outside, and we can fix this issue."
To cows: "That's it? Moo? So, no opinion on the price of tea in China? Guess not. If it's all the same to you, you're going to Wal-Mart, not McDonald's. Sorry, you're not Wagyu. Japanese didn't spoil you enough."
To spiders: "Spider on wall, / spider on wall! / Meets my shoe and then, / spider does fall! / Squished to bits, / clean-up rag! / No more scared ladies, / such a gag! /"
When I go to my cousin’s house I can just play with her dog for the longest. She just lays next to me 😭❤️. She also has little turtles. I just look at them. Before I moved I would just go outside and sit by the gate so I could see my neighbor’s dog. I’d always say hi to him, play with him the best the way that I can. My neighbor allowed to watch his dog when he went on vacation. It was good and bad
I like to look at animals but don’t like owning them because I have to bend over to caress the cat since the cat does not jump on my lap. It also sheds fur and randomly disappears after a brief petting period so it doesn’t seem like a stable companion.
I am an animal lover. Will give flying kisses.

Pretty much the same. I have the same chipmunks, squirrels, bunnies, fox and deer that come to my place looking for food.
One chipmunk crawls up my arm and eats seed on my shoulder while I am sitting in my Adirondack chair. The bunnies and deer hardly move anymore when I go out to fill the bird feeders.
I am pretty good at mimicking bird calls and often the chickadees will sit on my hand and eat seed from it.
@OfMiceandMen how long did it take for the chickadees to feed from your hand?
And how long did it take for the others to get used to you moving around the yard or so?
@Rosexøxø It took about 2 months for the Chickadees to come to my hand and feed. They would watch me head out to the feeders and start crowding me while I filled them. It mostly occurs in the winter time, during the summer period there's lots of other food around. I can mimic a Chickadee call pretty well and when I do they know I am ready. Had them land on my shoulder waiting for the other Chickadees to clear my hand. I've also had Nuthatches come once they saw what the chickadees were getting away with. I had one fawn that would walk behind me while I walked to the feeder early in the morning. She still had her spots. She would use her head to shake the feeder and knock some seed on the ground. Most deer I can come within 2 armlengths in the winter time. I've had a moose come through while I was sitting in my back yard bbqing, but they tend to avoid the house.
I observe them & their habits. When I was younger one of my favorite pass times was taking care of wild ants; was a joy to see them slowly get stronger & battle centipedes or worms or feeding moths to wild spiders, used to drive Mom nuts :p The only domestic animal I have is Mook & he's ornery enough I don't need any more. I've since abandoned my interest in ant colonies & funnel web spiders & have moved on to blue jays, cardinals & hummingbirds.
@Reorx I did the same! Took care of jumping spiders and my favorite was a black bold jumper with blue fangs. Had a cute little smile on its abdomen. Released it before the colder months. Also had one orange jumping spider 🕷️ but he was too old and did get challenged and attacked by a much younger one. Was a sad sight. Only took care of one ant once (not a whole colony) but getting it back to prime health on its own was difficult as it was highly stressed away from its colony. After it ate a little tiny bit I just let it go.
@Rosexøxø I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one with a morbid curiosity:) The funnel web spider web would get stronger the longer you fed them, they react to anything that disturbs their webs; at first when they were young & weak was a struggle for them to take down bigger prey like moths but did not take long for their venom to get stronger, a few days at most.
Towards the fall time when she'd lay her eggs & passed you could hear an audible snap in her web after. The any battles were glorious, I was involved with this as a kid. Me & a friend would go out & scavenge under rocks or bricks on the ground to find critters, worms, rolly pollys, millipedes, centipedes etc.. I fed them smaller weaker stuff at first then the bigger stuff after a few weeks. Then my friend dumped a cup of sugar I told him not to & my Mom freaked out because there was a huge ant war & thousands dead all over the patio & house. The sugar drove them crazy, black army ants was one & others were red.
My goodness that’s a heck of a story! I love funnel spiders too, but they do freak me out a bit 😂 they’re so fast and aggressive. I wouldn’t mind them if I didn’t mind my finger getting bit or so lol
Too bad we never recorded that stuff. You think you’ll ever keep those spiders/ants as pets again? Or no
Were they just for observation? And do you try to house any of the birds by you?
@Rosexøxø Weird hobby as a kid though I may show my kids someday:) I have some wild blue jays that will take unsalted peanuts in the shell out of my hand, the cardinals like them too but are much more cautios, I can get no closer than 10 feet to them.
I also grew blue wysteria, lilac, rose of sharon & white roses for the hummingbirds. I also got some honeysuckle im training on a trellace. Poor hummingbirds need their own weight in food everyday their metabolism is crazy. They will hover in fr9nt if our face sometimes.
It depends on the animal. I generally try to be friendly towards the animal, only approaching it if it indicates that it's okay to do that. I was in Scotland a few years ago and a Hairy Coo (Scottish Cow) came up to the fence that I was near and let me know that it wanted to be petted, so I did.
I pet them if I know they're not aggressive. Then if I have some treats, I slip them a couple. They made better company than people. I miss my Yorkie. He loved attention.
Animals were here before man. It saddens me that man is destroying this planet and the animals have to suffer.
I was just cat calling a cat not long ago. I treat them as I'd like to be treated if I was an animal. Ran into a bear on a trail once... I just acted like I was eating berries and slowly moved away. scary.
Depends upon the animal. I'll chatter with squirrels and they will usually come close to me. I avoid skunks. I scare off coyote. I make sure I have a barrier and/or a big stick between me and raccoons. With cats and dogs it depends upon the specific one. If it's a friendly, I'll say hello and pet it. If it's an unfriendly, I am prepared to deal with it if necessary.
I literally try to talk and befreind every single one... 😂 To a pretty low success rate but the ones that are successful we still pals. Got a great pic of me making pals with a local horse
I love to observe them lol and when it’s a dog or cat I instantly read them and see if they like me. Never met any animal that imprinted or was fond of me. My sister’s dog shows trust in me though, and for that I am grateful.
I sometimes say hi to cats or try making a noise to call them over.
Pspspsps 😂 do they come over?
Yep, that, lol. One time, one of them laid down to be petted and fell off some stone thing 😂 and another time one was going towards me and I petted it.
They’re picky af. They just don’t answer to every pspsps 🤣
Yeah, I guess so.
HAHAHAHA that meme is so funny! I do the same thing. 😂
I want animals to live happy lives... somewhere else.
Yes. I just don't like being around animals, but I'd go to a lot of effort to help one if it needed it. (and have done so in the past)
i talk to them ask how they're doing ask the cat if he'd like to live with me and eat my mice as I've had them for years... i caught maybe 20 but there's always more... dogs i talk to as well they may bark but they never have a vicious tone with me.

It depends.. some of them are adorable and friendly and some of them are grumpy and obnoxious... Hey, just like people 😆
That's a great way of saying it 😄..
Lol tip of the iceberg xD
i had a wake up call tonight. i almost ran over 3 different animals while out. i did run over one other animal but thankfully he missed the tires. but there is so much wildlife out here i was really focusing on getting a grill guard and then this happened. that's when i knew i needed a gun.
Usually i am good nature 2 them. Proof is i feed racoons and oppusim every night. I feed them bread i think its neat 2 watch them eat. Best part they all get aling with each other. Animals are cool.
I'm learning to call crows and squirrels... so I have more friends...🥺
I call them friends usually and basing off of the animal I’ve come across proceed normally or with caution
...
Lol.. It was a gif... Didn't work here
I become a pretty soft ass mf no lie, truth is I value animals more than people when I'm speaking in general 🤷🏽
If it is a social animal I interact socially. Not many animals are social so it tends to be cats and dogs.
Honestly depends on the animal, but usually try to conversate with it
Usually "hello"
Depends on the animal and what I'm armed with at the time
Well house pets I end up paying more attention to them then people.
Nurturing, stoic, quiet, relaxed, babying the everlovigg Fuck out of the adorable thing. 🥰
The only ones I acknowledge are cats and dogs. I get down to their level and try to earn their trust
I talk to them. It helps. I pet about 5 deer that way and came close to a black bear.
I will see you, then I will pretend like I didn't see you
@Pinay_ako can you message me?
Yeah, I’m like that too
I like animals
I'm a pelican whisperer
I'm like a dark whisperer, for geese. I may not instinctively know their every want. But if they step out of line with others, my mere presence seems to make them want to clean up their act. Like they somehow know that if they keep it up, I'm going to completely humiliate them somehow, even if I don't have a specific plan.
I don't put them in a good mood to not be mean; but I break their will to inflict malice.
It's like it's all fun and games for them, then I walk in, and they scatter as if Chuck Norris is about to punish them! And I barely have to say or do anything. Just... walk toward them. Smiling. Maybe waving my arms. And they immediately decide they'd rather not mess with the kids anymore.
Like, they think they're some tough street gang. Then I walk in, and they scatter like the SWAT team just descended on them.
Gently and carefully
Lol normally
love them
