British law says you can defend yourself with a tractor. Is this better than a pathetic gun?

Confronted with a violent drunken trespasser he used his tractor to remove both intruder and his vehicle from his property. Under British law anything at hand can be used as a weapon but unlike American law must be reasonable and in proportion to threat faced.

So now the bars been set are we likely to see a spate of tractor clobberings on British streets and will this lead to a tractor arms race between citizen and criminals?
