Did the British soldiers resent US GIs after WW2 when they came home after 6 years of war to find their wives and sweethearts had American babies?

I know a few buddies this happened to who came back after year long deployments to find their wives had just had a month old baby. Think it was the case with a lot of British military persons that they were gone for a year or two, maybe 5 years to find out their wives had been with US Soldiers. Of course US soldiers at the time would have been very desirable to English women as they were young, fit, corn fed well dressed and well paid with gifts that were rationed in Britain like silk stocking, chocolate and they could take them to American clubs in contrast to the English Tommy.

People had a different attitude to unwed mothers back then so it's likely they would have been dumped in orphanages. We also have to consider infanticide as a possibility.

Well back in the day before the contraception we take for granted today unprotected sex led to pregnancy. This was back before DNA tests and welfare. Who was supposed to support an unwed mother or a mother who had a child by a man other than her husband?
In saying that it's pretty common even today, I know a few guys who were deployed overseas that happened too. I actually know a couple of military husband's who's wives returned from a year long tour of duty 4 months pregnant.

also having been to both Mildenhall, Lakenheath and lived in Cambridge, plenty American wives are happy to fuck about when their husbands are deployed on Ops.

Ditto when been on detachment to the US.

Plenty women including married ones are happy to fuck Brits.

Plenty of women on deployment are happy to fuck about with multiple men. They get a lot of male attention overseas due to the female to male ratio.
