there's good reasons to join the military and not the join the military. one of the good reasons is mandatory government benefits, new skills, a strong brotherhood and some degree of respect from people who still appreciate traditional masculinity and values

on the flip side, the largest demographic in western militaries are straight white men, the most demonized group in their countries by the feminist liberals so why fight on behalf of people who despise you and see you as disposable

during times of war however, due to selective service, a lot of young men will soon find themselves disposal and then the age old debate of "my body my choice" will end up creating a revolt and country-wide instability

I think it is being subverted by the democrats. They are trying to turn it into an organization that would have no problem killing other citizens because they voted for Trump.

People are leaving the military and recruiters are finding it hard to sign up new people.

I think the US military is more of a joke for how lax their security is and for their idiocy. Like losing an F-35 jet. Or leaking documents on fucking War Thunder and Minecraft Discords. Or getting delivery to "secure" nuclear silos.

Also for the whole military industrial complex that presents itself as "peacekeeping" but is actually an imperialist invasion force that pretends to be world police. But badly.

If they were signing up people who turned up at the recruiting centre in a dress then I'd think you were right but they mostly don't know who they're getting. They're scratching around for recruits as is. To get quality people in the military you would have to reintroduce the draft. You know some countries like Switzerland and Israel do have compulsory military service.
