I don’t really care about England being a monarchy. Monarchies are a backward institution from medieval times. A monarch doesn’t have true power like then. Succession is not based on ability, but on the order of being the oldest male child. A lot of money is spent on a royal family to keep up appearances. At least with a democracy, the president can have term limits or be voted out.
In the case of England, the monarch is also a kind of pope as being the head of the Anglican Church, so resignation is virtually impossible.
Old male child? So Queens who ruled just don’t exist now?
The way England's system is set up, the male heir is always chosen above a female heir. Elizabeth II was chosen because she was the oldest of two sisters in her father's family. If she had a little brother, HE would have been chosen first. I think there was some referendum going around about changing things so it would be the oldest child regardless of gender, but it would have to be approved by majority countries in the Commonwealth. I know, it's dumb, but that's the way they have it set up.
The UK has been a Monarchy foe a hell of a long time and it has its advantages such as the reigning monarch being outside of the political arena.
The USA rejected the Monarchy when they went for independence, I doubt that the majority of Americans on both sides of the political spectrum would entertain it now.
It has worked out for the UK pretty well overall and they managed to make the kind of changes as the monarchy stays above politics and basically just a figurehead now.
I don’t think that would work in the US though and that’s fine with me lol
(B) There’s shouldn’t be any Kings.
God “said that we should be praising nobody! No Kings, no queen, no figure, no statues, nothing. But him.”
Shouldn’t”

I'm ok with having a monarchy, my country has one too but it would be pointless for the US to change to become one too. First it goes against everything they stand for and it's pointless in my opinion if it's not rooted in the history of the country
What’s your country?
The royal family has very limited power nowadays in the uk.
Their position is only kept as they are used to rule over Canada, Australia, New Zealand etc.
Beyond that the queen has no use to us, which is why our government functions without them.
How are they ruling over Canada? No one talks about that
Who is the monarch of Canada?
Pretty much all foreign affairs of Canada apart from trade is behind the scenes controlled by he royal family. The royal family is now controlled by the privy council of the UK. So in essence, behind the scenes, the uk still rules over 26 countries unofficially, the commonwealth nations…
I would make a very good Emperor of the United States of America provided that there were none of these silly checks on my power that other monarchs have. Yup, if you are an American you should give me absolute power, otherwise no, America shouldn't have a monarch.
Yes, the US should once again become a part of the British Empire. You know that it's the right thing to do, and besides, you have to admit your system of government thus far has been an abysmal failure and needs to be replaced with something better.
Ah so that’s why you were so bitter on the other comment 🤣 what’s your country?
Bitter? I wasn't, but maybe I just sound that way sometimes.
Actually, I'm kind of embarrassed to reveal where I live, because I'm ashamed of how so many within this country have been so ready and willing to slavishly obey the mandates of our federal and state governments over the scamdemic "vaccines", and how easy it was to get people to turn against their neighbours and report them to the authorities. It's practically a communist country now, worse than Trudeau's Canada, a place run by feminists.
I live in Australia (unfortunately), but don't tell anyone, let's keep it our little secret :D
Yeah I know you’re embarrassed to share where you live. Oh the irony.
Lol I actually know nothing about the government in Australia. But the fact that clowns like you know so much about my country while I know nothing about yours speaks volumes. Hilarious.
I would favor a true Republic. Neither a Monarch nor Democracy, but a Republic governed by the most educated and qualified.
They go hand in hand don’t they?
Wondering how many Americans will vote for that.
That's not going to happen. The royals are dead ducks...
As an American I think that monarchies are archaic and would not support one.
We were once part of that monarchy and fought the revolutionary to free ourselves from its yoke. Why the hell would we go back?
i'm British and dont' give a shit about them. it's just about tradition and history really.
Yeah but don’t they hold power
I have neutral feelings about it
Of course America shouldn't becime a monarchy. A royal lineage of bandits?
No not US
