What do you think of Putin and his cronies using the War in the Donbass and the 2014 Coup orchestrated by Fascist groups as a pretext for war?

The Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson went on a tirade about the War in Donbass, claiming that the West has been ignoring it and "pretending that the fighting only started in February 2022". Well, the War in Donbass was extensively covered in the "Western Media" and Maria is trying to make it seem as though the violence has been ongoing at a more or less constant rate since the Minsk agreement ~6 years ago. There had been a ceasefire and of the 14,000 people who died (who were by no means all separatists), ~350 have since then. That could be a justifiable region to move troops into the Donbass region to maintain peace (which they did) but not for a full on assault on the Ukraine. Other apologists for Putin *cough George Galloway have also brought up how the current "regime" in Ukraine came to power in a coup, ousting the last president who had been elected which had orchestrated by virulent antisemites. However, since then the Ukraine had an ELECTION where they elected Zelensky (a Jew). To add insult to injury, George Galloway talked about how Russia couldn't be expected to let NATO get to close after they lost 26 million people to the Nazi invasion.

#Facepalm

The USSR lost 26 million people, 7 million of whom were Ukrainian. But it was nice of Maria to bring up Iraq because this war is quickly turning into Russia's Iraq. Well on the international stage at least; on the battlefield it's quickly turning into Talvisota 2.0.
