Everything I've heard is that in the short term (6 months) the government can't wave some magic wand to reduce prices. It is literally impossible due to equipment and manpower logistics. This is just a talking point for the stupid who want to argue Donald "Putin's Puppet" Trump is their Fat Lord and that anything Biden does sucks. It's pure propaganda bullshit. Now, can the oil companies do something? Perhaps. But they are about profits so they will only do what is in their best interest. That is the American Way.

It's just a plot for someone to make more money. Word has it that we already have the technology to create cheap energy. But it will never see the light of day, any more than Tesla's work was, as it will not be making money for certain people who are securely embedded in the oil, gas, and coal industries.

About fuel: a reckless culture that has an ever increasing thirst for consumption and wastage has no future. The trick is rather to REDUCE the demand of energy (without leaving the 'comfort zone' of course).

Not sure america needs it but many European countries are dependent on something we don't produce ourselves. We don't need it for heating or electricity but we still got transportation and production needs. If it wasn't winter, we could had higher sanctions, putin knew that it was a mutual dependency. We were self-sufficient before, then output dropped dramatically last year.

According to referring owners and drillers this is the result of regulatory and leasing changes, effecting drilling and well as supply line.

A few weeks ago they formerly ended all new leases for oil exploration, so expect our energy situation to get much worse.
