Why is there so many thin woman these days. Do you think there’s a pressure for thinness?

Yes, my friend. If you look on TV, or just as clothes you may want online, these models are often anorexic (hiring practices need to improve, sadly it's encouraged (i. e. you be underweight or you can't model for us). It's another way in which women are objectified as being less important than the clothes being sold. Seeing this as well as well as countless diet magazines, often, in households where a hearty love of food is discouraged, can create anorexia. It can also be a response to having been overweight, so the woman says: "I will 'never' be overweight again, I'll always have this margin of error. I, myself, have anorexia, and believe their should be rules against modeling agencies encouraging and hiring women who are underweight. (I know someone that had to be 'measured' every morning as a model). Ballerinas are encouraged to be thin so that they can be limber. This illness is passed on from generation to generation. I'm not sure that it's increased, but if it has, I would guess the internet would come into play.

If you look back to the days of Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield and others, men preferred robust women. That began to change with the emergence of sex kittens like Bridget Bardot. Seems to me that is where we have gone Beyond Bardot to very slender women. Rare to see a robust woman in movies and TV. I see Kim K as a parody of traditional robust women. An aberration.

No. Not thinness. For being not super, morbidity obese. If you can’t move or bend to tie your shoes or wash your ass in the bathroom. That’s not attractive. And that’s not just women that’s men too. Women don’t like an obese man. Even though they say they are fine.. it’s not true.

There are fewer thin women today that there were 40 years ago.

But in a way that's good as there is a finite amount of carbon on the planet. And the more we store in our bodies the less is in the air trapping heat leading to climate change. So eat cake to save the planet!

Most women I meet are pretty normal. The ones that are heavy do tend to be heavier and the ones that are thin tend to be thinner. Like the extremes are more pronounced now.
