Like so thin it looks unhealthy.
649 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. I assume you are asking why women need to be thin to be attractive. Leaving aside body positivity seeking to make obesity normal as a nonsense of about the same ilk of 101 pronouns lets look at this.
It is pretty much hard wired in men to like a waist hip ratio o.6 in the planar view. That is what we see with you being in the middle distance if you are walking down the street towards us.
Now you might have heard the rumors we like breasts. It is not so much large breasts we like but rather breasts that jut out from the torso. If a woman has a big belly, her breasts don't jut out at all compared to a girl who has a spare belly.
It is to the point that I say if a girl has a good waist everything else takes care of itself. Such a girl looks gloriously healthy and that is a large part in attractiveness.
There is a sweet spot. A girl that is emaciated just provokes a desire to feed her up in me.
Female body mass seems to be highly political. Those on the higher end want to paint thinner girls as being unhealthy despite them having a good BMI and those with more body mass as natural despite a high BMI. I'll leave those female politics to females.
In today's world it is easy to eat to excess, particularly carbs when in the past the challenge was more to get enough. So another attraction of thin girls is that they are, at least in one way, living their life in moderation at first glance.

+1 yBecause for years there's been magazines aimed at women to lose weight and such. This causes some women to have body image issues, eating disorders, go through unnecessary surgeries, etc. all to think they'll look "good" or "better" when it could be the opposite. I used to be super skinny this year, but it had nothing to do with the above I mentioned. I just had problems eating due to digestive issues. But starving yourself and your body to the point you're a skeleton isn't healthy, and I'd never advise it to anybody in this world. My advice though: Get to a healthy weight.

+1 yIt's called anorexia. It's a psychological and physical illness that often leads to permanent body damage and sometimes to death. Bulimia is a version where the person yo-yos between horrid thinness and mild obesity.
Both are extremely damaging to the body, psyche and life.
10 ReplyMedia magazines and the false image you all come to expect from being brainwashed into thinking that's how every woman should look in the world, advertisers and the media, I often wonder do they really Believe what they try so hard to manipulate the masses into believing, but women are groomed from an early age to Believe thin is in always, from folks they play with, to tv shows and movies they watch, personality I like meat on the bones, those runway models I mean really they're walking skeletons, and they walk do fast in runway because they're starving trying to get back to eating something asap before they pass out
00 ReplyThey don't need to be, obviously.
Being thin is an idea incepted by other women to sabotage them. Womankind is sabotaging itself collectively.
Worse yet, I've noticed a lot of men buying into the idea lately, though basically every physical feminine trait that has ever appealed to men throughout history requires women NOT to be thin. It is just insanity.
My advice: Live freely, eat what you like, don't feel obligated to exercise. Only idiots would criticise you for doing so.00 Reply- 2K opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic.
+1 yI agree.
1. Muscle is heavier/ more dense than adipose (fat) tissue, so as one exercises to develop muscle, their wight may not drop, but their body will get more trim as the fat tissue is shed and the muscle tissue is increased. There is a difference from just plain "thin", and someone who is well-muscled and "trim".
2. A little bit of extra body weight- we're talking in the 5-10 pound range, not changing the body percentage of composition, and not just flab- has actually been shown to be helpful in cases of sustained sickness: the body will have a store of weight/energy reserve to help bridge the time that they are sick. (This is NOT to say that everyone should run out and add 10 pounds for Christmas this year!)

Anonymous(36-45)+1 y"need"? to be fit is ideal everybody knows that, I have the notion to come to the conclusion that women who think women have to be THIN and regard to them as "unhealthy", tend to be overweight women who refused to take care of what they eat or exercise and then want to make comments about those who actually get a good looking figure through hard work, yes hard work because for most, that's what it is, which is why you look around and there are so many ball figured women who have lost their shape because they are too lazy to follow a normal healthy diet, meaning small portions, instead they just wanna eat eat eat and not feel guilty, then get offended when someone mentions weight. 🤯, when they can't even dedicate at least an hour of exercise. no self respect, just gorge on food and want to criticize women with good looking bodies. lol 🥴

Opinion Owner+1 ylook at all the comments... fat praising people doing the same thing... 🤯🤡 thin is awful and fat is glorified. the pathetic world we live in today. oh because nobody wants to be "offended" 🤮
They don't need to be. It is what is perceived to be the ideal body but you are correct that it can be unhealthy. Based on a person's bone structure, their ideal healthy weight can have quite a range.
Consult your physician to determine a healthy weight range and work to stay in that range. Eat healthy and stay active to help maintain your weight.
This applies to both men and women.
Do not try to please somebody else by being too thin because you think that is what they want or they have told you that's what they want. Just do what is right for you.00 Reply- 1.1K opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic.
+1 ySuper thin expectations come from women. Magazines and women competing with each other.
As far as men go, just be fit and healthy. No extra fat rolls and gut/back.
We like thin, average, athletic and curvy (curvy/fit).
Women see these toothpicks on runways and think that is what they should look like. Just take care of yourself and be in shape and you are gold.

+1 yMedia..
Also the avarage bmi for a runway model is like 16.. thats insanely thin to the point often you can see part of their ribs..
I've never met anyone being attracted to severely thin or obese people. It should be looked at as equally bad if you ask me.
10 ReplyI think the median size for women in the U. S. is like 14-16 right now. Curvy and voluptuous are much more popular than thin in mass media at the moment. Men in general prefer women with the golden ratio at any size and point in time.
High fashion prefers thin because the clothing is cheaper and the look is more striking on a stage even if it's harmful to the models.10 Reply
+1 yI prefer wide yet healthy women, who simply eat plenty of solely healthy food and exercise well.
Apparently a wide wife will put off business executives during the making of a deal. If that's the case, perhaps they want to work with someone who prioritizes business over their wife's pleasure. Sad.

+1 yI'm an exception, because I'm thin, I find thin women attractive. I'm glad I'm not biased in that I'm a fat guy wanting a thin woman. Ah well. Women don't need to be, it's up to each person's preferences. However, I like how I'm not contradictory in how I want thin chicks, because I am a thin guy 😂😊🦄🦄🦄

+1 yProbably the women who try to be really thin are too influenced by Victoria's Secret type models. They certainly don't need to be that thin and I don't think it's healthy. The irony is that I don't think most guys are attracted to that look.

It's a double edged sword. Cause VS and other agencies have had plus sized models for years and those women get body shamed just as much
If they aren't too skinny it is healthier and looks better.

Really we don't have to be super thin but other women make us feel like we do, even though most men like a bit thicker of a woman.00 ReplyWomen don't need to be as thin as some of the models are. Women need to try and be healthy, just like us guys need to try and be healthy. Just living a healthy life style alone, will help regulate weight.
