Like get some beautiful curves.
4 moIt's definitely not a need. It's the effect of societal and cultural peer pressure. Best part is, even skinny women can't escape it.
Plenty of men and women can appreciate a curvy woman. Plus sized models have been a thing for a few decades now, and many clothing lines have catered to those curves. But, there's always the hate crowd. The ones who will tell you that you're unhealthy, that no man wants that, that you're at an increased risk of heart disease, etc. People will shame the shit out of a curvy girl acting like it's for her own good.
I've been a stick my entire life. I had to gain weight in order to play sports in high-school. My defining straights have always been that I'm tall, and that my tits are large. I've been told that I need to eat. That men like meat on their bones. Some will even think I'm anemic. I'm not even as skinny as they think; I'm 5'11, 145 pounds... I'm at a healthy weight. But, those darned facebook/Instagram health experts love to weigh in.
We're pressured to look desirable based off of undefined health and beauty standards that will change from person to person all from a young age. While a lot of that is engraved into my skull, for the most part, I've learned to shut it out. I've loved the way I look for years and it took me a while to do it. My boyfriend loves the way I look. Really that's all that matters.
If you're a curvier girl, own it!10 Reply

its not women who want to get skinny its the society that forces them. forcing them to fit the "standards" thought sometimes i wonder who the f decided these standards. not womens forsure.

Who's forcing them? If you wanna be fat, you're free to be fat

Some young women can be effortlessly be skinny and the male unconscious sex brain likes it. :)
It is only in recent times that men and women could be fat/obese.
The last European famine was 1944-47 and there were 3 famines around 1860. The ability to be fat is very recent. For most of our time, life was more active and food was not in surplus. - 4 mo
@HawkPerception Yeah and according to new data, 70% - 80% of the US population is now considered obese. Fat chickens, eating chicken them people know we got lifetime of medical debt coming our way lol.

4 moWomen don't need to be skinny. That's nonsense. If you wanna be Jabba the Hutt, taking up 2 plane seats, then by all means, you're free to do so.
But it's a fact that most men prefer slim women. If you're a slim woman, you'll attract more men than if you're obese.
Let's also get this straight. Skinny is not attractive. Skinny looks like your skin is hugging your bones as if you were vacuum sealed. It's synonymous with anorexic.
If you're obese, you're also more likely to have health issues down the road. Not sure why anyone would aim to be big like that. But sure, ignore workouts, sit on that couch and eat up. I'm sure it'll benefit your life 👍🏼

Because most women compare themselves to other women and think if she isn’t skinny she won’t be considered attractive, which is not true at all, but a lot of women get wrapped up in social media and fame thinking that’s how life really is , when really it’s a bunch of nonsense

Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and there isn't a one-size-fits-all ideal. Everyone has a unique body, and embracing that individuality is important. While society may project certain standards, health and happiness should always come first. Confidence and self-acceptance are what truly make someone beautiful. Embrace your natural shape and rock those curves or angles, whichever you have! 😄💃

4 moThis ideal of women should be skinny started in this era. But it wasn't always like this.. actually...
The Renaissance period shared different views of the societal norm on what beauty was for a woman, especially in art.
Women were often depicted with curvy figures as a sign of good health and wealth, and their bodies symbolic of child bearing and passion. Hence why famous artist like Michelangelo painted them plump to reflect the ideals at that time.
I use to be very skinny before joining the Army. I thought that's what I wanted. Since then, I've put on about 20lbs and I love my new curves and plumpness in the right areas ;)00 Reply
4 moBeauty standards... that's it. Beauty standards. Either conform to them or be an outcast. Not saying I agree with them. I will say though that HEALTHY bodies are the most attractive. Meaning neither overweight nor underweight. Overeating isn't good and starving yourself isn't either. But just a healthy weight body. Your doctor should be able to tell you what a healthy weight body looks like for you and your body type in specific.

4 moExcellent question ! I guess it is a business related phenomenon where medias use the sensitivity of women regarding their look and self esteem. Personally I prefer by far the ladies to be curvy.
Long ago I heard a somehow amusing truth: a majority of men seem wishing to go out with a top model, but when it comes to sexual activities, they prefer a woman with curves. Meaning, one for the show (vanity), and one for intimate pleasure (real preference).

4 moTake a look at most fashion models. Women try to emulate them, not realizing that fashion models are skinny because it makes it easier, and cheaper, to make the fashions they model, as well as providing a consistent look between models.
In other words, many women are victims of marketing.
That's not surprising when many women go out of their way to pay $800 for a purse that cost $20 to make, just because it has a famous name on it.

4 moThere's skinny girls with curves too. You don't need to put on weight to be curvy. And I don't think women need to be skinny it's a personal preference.

And if you train your core and hips, muscles can give you curves too.
Anonymous(45 Plus)5 moUsually, when girls complain about other girls being skinny, the complainer is chubby/stout/"big boned"/hefty/etc. Some guys prefer girls "with a little meat on their bones" and some guys prefer girls who are skinny. But I don't hear the skinny girls asking, "Why do some girls need to be chunky?" Do you need everyone else to look like you so you can feel better? Give it a rest!

5 moThis is complicated because I have seen some men like curvy women, I've seen men love fat women. I have seen men love skinny women. I think it all depends on who or what you are focused on. If it's online, then you need change your focus. If it is in person, that is just the luck of what men you happen to be around.
00 ReplyWhy would they be beautiful for you. You want to be in a polygamous relationship with coffee, nutella, and your ipod. When you find your ideal tub of nutella for your dream relationship, you'll be the fat girl in the relationship unless you're a tranny... Then you're still a dude.
00 ReplyWomen overthink about weight. Most men like a woman for who she is, faults and imperfections and all.
I personally like curves, some stretch marks, mom bod, it's all good.
Just treat a man with respect and he will be there for you.
00 Reply670 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. Well two thirds of Adult people in western countries are overweight. Quite incredibly, 40% are obese in the US. And your issue is skinny women.
Women and men should be in shape and healthy. They're currently... not.
00 Reply619 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. Some men prefer women with a little bit fat tissue. However there are men who prefer fit girls. The difference, I've never heard a slender girl complaining that there are men who prefer voluminous women but ton of complains another way around.
00 Reply649 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. I like slender. Women put on weight more quickly and quickly get obese. Obesity is repulsive on either gender.
10 ReplyWhy not?
Nothing beats a healthy lifestyle
It’s true for men and women
No one “needs” to be skinny
But those who chose to be fit always benefit00 Reply
4 moYou women need to decide what you mean when you say "skinny."
The women I consider "skinny" would likely be considered "fat" by anorexics who brag about starving themselves.
Words have lost meaning.
