Why isn't Russia using it's full military power on Ukraine?

Question

Russia has already gotten more power than russia is currently using it could crush Ukraine in a few days. Russia has the most powerful military in the world at rank 2 in the world's strongest military

I don't think you understand how almost meaningless military capabilities on paper actually are. When people scoff at the US military budget compared to say Russia and China, they fail to realize that by far the biggest contributors to that gap are force projection and logistics capabilities; namely the fact that we have ten supercarriers, even more assault ships, and all four military branches independently operate some of the largest air forces in the world.

Russia's huge military is largely made up of rusted junk rotting in storage yards and drydock, which is also why they're so willing to deploy tanks and armored vehicles as expendable assets in moronic waves. Their strategic doctrine appears to be completely unchanged from 1945, and it was falling behind the times even then. The initial attack on Ukraine that they were building up for months fell on its face so hard that they had to mobilize parts of their army all the way in Kamchatka to reinforce, and so far that has done very little because ultimately numbers do not offset completely neglected logistics, non-existent MOUT training, uninformed, abused and mentally broken soldiers, or completely neglecting the most valuable military targets in favor of bombing city blocks. Additionally their economic power prior to being sanctioned by most of the world was only about as strong as Italy, which is to say, nowhere near capable of sustaining full scale war even in the best of times.

Now that being said, Ukraine is still severely outgunned, and it's very unlikely that they will be able to take back their whole country. The most probable "swift" end to the war would be in the form of a ceasefire agreement in which both sides have to make some concessions. Much of what people are seeing from either side in this war is just flat out propaganda, and people need to realize that Zelenskyy is much more similar of a leader to Putin than he is to a western president or prime minister, and the biggest difference is that his people (the Ukrainians) are fighting for their homes and families while most of the Russians are confused as to why they're even there at all (which implies severe leadership and communication failings on Russia's side since "giving purpose and motivation" is literally 2/3 of the entire job of a leader).

What makes you think Russia isn't using its full might. For retired US military men like myself we have long known that the Russian military is over rated. On numerous occasions over in last decades Russian military equipment has gone up against Western (US) Military equipment and the Russian stuff gets crushed every time. Look at the Middle East for example... US equipment slaughters Russian Tech.

Russia has whole has a terrible war record... they have lost so many conflicts dating back to the time of Czars. It really comes down to the fact the Russian people have no will to fight, they have nothing worth fighting or dyeing for. They have be cowed by their government for decades, and they know their dyeing in the Ukraine will not improve anything for them. Why do think the Soviet Block fell apart without a shot being fired and all the Eastern Block Countries joined NATO as fast as they could?

Sorry my friend if you do not think or know that is the extent of the Russian full might then you are missed informed. But they got nukes and that is the real reason why they are still around.

Ukrainian civilians with no previous military experience, having artillery raining down on them, and many Russian young lads who had no choice in joining the army, being forced to fight (many of they’re mums don’t even know they’re in Ukraine)

It’s military is very corrupt, incompetent people are promoted, desertion is common. Being the bad guys doesn’t help morale, so many soldiers just abandon their vehicles and leave the Russian army. How can you win like that?

Yeah that's what we thought. It would appear that we're wrong. Russia has committed 3/4 of its military to overthrow and take over Ukraine. Ukraine has 760, 000 members of their military. Military success is based strongly on morale and the Russian military does not want this fight they don't want to be part of this fight and from what I gather they're not even sure what they're fighting for at least the few that I've heard from the front lines anyway. If they're doing this to Russia according to our current Secretary of State Russia's military is nowhere near what we thought it was or Putin grossly underestimated the fight that is in the Ukrainian people.

I think Russia's military command structure is weaker than most realised, which in turn has reduced the effectiveness of the Russian forces.

Technically it could maybe demolish more buildings and infrastructure in Ukraine, but that would hinder the movement of the Russian military too. Their gains are proving very costly.

You are too young to have lived through the cold war and then the fall and crumble of the Soviet Union. The Russian military today came from those ashes. They only have a very small budget and force. Most of their equipment is old and broken down. A lot is a bluff, all talk and showing off of a single jet, ship, missile

Because Russia is scared of losing equipment. Russia isn't risking "sending many warplanes" because they would get destroyed. Then it would  again  fail to conquer. They know they would not "crush Ukraine in a few days' so they don't risk losing warplanes. Just risk people that will be replaced by birth.

LMAO! They did. It didn't work. They've had to ask North Korea for soldiers to come and die in Ukraine. They've had to use donkeys and golf carts to move troops and munitions. The only thing they didn't use were nukes, but they're useless for taking land.
