I would say it's how the Nazis appropriated the swastika.

When I worked at an auto repair shop, I remember opening the hood of a car and I saw a swastika painted on the engine. At first, I thought "wow" but then I looked in the windshield and saw a statue of a Hindu deity and thought "oh, that's right".

Sorry about the comment under that guy. It annoys me when people have no clue about Swastika, what does it mean in India and why it's used by many Hindus. I grew up in a Buddhist family but most of the people who lived in this city are Hindus and we ended up celebrating many Hindu festivals at our home and followed some Hindu tradition as that's what my mum liked. I'm an Athiest yet I remember my mum and my friends parents painting "Shubh Labh" means Good fortune and Well Being AKA Indian Swastika at the entrance of the main door or at least putting a sticker of that at the entrance. We are not followers of Hitler, lol.
