What do you think about the election that just happened in Hungary?

It was said Victor Orban faced the biggest challenge to power yet, but the Fidesz party actually gained seats.

Victor Orban is my favorite foreign leader because he is right wing nationalist, because he doesn’t allow mass immigration into Hungary, and he isn’t a dictator like Putin.

There was also a referendum to protest Hungarian children from being taught about “alternative sex live styles” that passed overwhelmingly.

A lot of people thought Orban was in trouble because of his “close ties with Putin” which seemed to more of a neutrality. There was also a United opposition party that posed a threat but they just couldn’t do it.

I think this might mean the War in Ukraine won’t hurt the Nationalist movement in Europe as much as I thought.

Seems like far right scammers are really taking over some places. Fortunately we held them back in the US but for some reason they keep trying, like worthless little parasites gobbling up other people's self worth because they are too lazy to learn any of their own. It is clear we need a more robust response to authoritarians, however. A dictator is born every minute it seems alongside his legion of simps. Most people just don't want this to be their problem and so ignore it until it's on their doorstep. And that's how authoritarians win. For some reason it is easy to organize people around hate and fear but less so around being civil. Organization always wins out in the end.

Orban has already dominated Hungary.

But with a bit of luck, all the EU sanctions against Hungary will be active soon and the European Court of Justice will also sanction them (such as revoking their voting rights).

It signals that the Hungarian people don’t want to freeze in the dark and see their standard of living fall by getting cut off from Russian natural resources.

It can hurt nationalist movement in others countries of Europe though, Hungary is well know for being right wing but in France LePen saying during many years she supported Putin is not going to get her good point.

I have seen online the polls for the second round show Le Pen way closer to winning then before.
It was like 49% or slightly above %50, but who knows how true polls are.

It's pretty awesome actually, most people leave gag within the first years but it been more than 5 years and we're still here talking, that's really cool :)

More evidence that Hungary should be sanctioned hard by the EU and eventually removed from the Union. Orban is nothing more than a corrupt leader with authoritarian ideals and a Putin-stooge. Also, fundamentally against basic freedoms of speech and press.
