Do you think Vance's visit in Hungary days before election and Vance's accusation that EU interferences election in Hungary, while he obviously has interference by himself is the reason for massive loss of Orban's party in last elections?

I don't really know enough about Hungary's situation, definitely not deep enough to actually know whether or not this was the one reason... but I still think it would be quite disingenuous to believe that there was ONE reason for which this happened, obviously there would be multiple factors involved and also developing for a few years now too
there's the corruption and the impunity, the economy, the Pro-Russia sentiment obviously... and their shift towards more controlling practices and after over a decade of the older dude... it really wasn't that difficult for the younger one to just offer a very clear and contrasting alternative
I think it would be just silly to believe that Vance, especially a puppet like Vance... could just turn the tide either way, in favor or against of anybody in Europe... sometimes, we just think too highly of ourselves over here
with or without the USA propaganda... I believe the results would have been the same
I guess the younger Hungarian people saw the possibility of being conscripted into the conflict, for or alongside with Russia to become more of a probable scenario over time...
I've had a couple of friends for years now... from Estonia though, and I've seen them grow up among Pro-Russia majorities in their towns/cities, so... I can definitely see how Hungarians would feel even more sketchy about this older guy prioritizing his own benefit over the people of his country
The rest of the world doesn’t think like the US does when it comes to these people.
Vance is a controversial figure at home just because he’s Trump’s VP
In a place like Hungary he’s just the American vice president on a diplomatic trip, no one is changing how they will vote because of his character
If those elections are rigged (most usually are) then they were gonna play out this way no matter who did or said what
In the US and other large democratic countries it seems like a conspiracy to suggest a rigged election
In smaller countries around the world it’s rare to have an election that isn’t rigged or at least predetermined
Democracy is far from being a perfect model
Orban actually rigged the election system in his favor and still he lost.

Y'all just want to blame Trump for everything. Look all the islamic immigration over the last decade has been really unpopular with white middle class people. That combined with the war on manufacturing, the pushing of other cultures and inflation working as the cherry on top of this grievance sundae; people are upset. They want change, and many of these far right parties offer the change that the people want.
I'm not familiar enough with Hungary's politics to have an opinion on this election, but the growth of the far right in much of Europe is concerning. a
I don't think it's the main reason but it definitely didn't help.
Happy Orban is gone (and unlike Trump just accepted the defeat).

ROFL, Fascists are morons by definition. Stupid people like simple solutions that don't require much thought. That never ends well. Orban got elected on tough talk and bullying. And then proceeded to fail spectacularly. Just like tRump. The Hungarian economy under Orban was characterized by high inflation and debt due to nationalism and isolationist policies. Sound familiar?
I think Orban had been in power for 15 years or so. Too long for any politician in a democracy and he lost votes not because of Trump but because he was too close to Putin. A mistake on his part. East Europeans hate Russia.
What is did notice is that the winners didn't mention immigration during their campaign
I generally don't follow politics in foreign countries, and I don't know if the graph is correct or just fake news. If it IS correct, it does seem that Vance's visit has an effect on the election.
@freyared Here's what the news media is reporting...
Hungary’s PM Viktor Orbán lost the election, conceded to Péter Magyar. After 16 years in power, Orbán conceded defeat in Hungary’s general election yesterday, calling his loss to Péter Magyar, the opposition leader, “painful.” Despite Hungary’s relatively small size—its population is fewer than 10 million—Orbán cultivated a large following among global populists, and his fans include President Trump and many in the MAGA movement. But a series of corruption scandals eroded voter sentiment. The rise of Magyar, who is described as center-right, may not lead to sweeping changes on many issues, but he has pledged to make significant anti-corruption reforms.—HVL
I don't really understand any of it but I wanted to reply to your question 'cuz you always give such awesome replies on my questions, so, Ty. 😊
I don't really understand my questions either but at least many of them do involve alcohol! 🤣
Party time!!! 🥳🥳🥳
I think the anti-EU ramblings of VPJD just were the last nail in the coffin of Orban. The people interviewed on the street clearly stated, they want less Russia, less USA and more EU. They got it. Congratulations!
Who won? I just watched JD's cringe speech and a youtuber from there talk about it and no words on who won yet. Victor still in or is he out?
Nevermind...3 videos is a charm... Hungary looks like it's about to get flooded by Islam.
You might have a point... They sure seem to want in there though. The EU really wants them in there too.
Vance was just the icing on the cake.
However this gives Trump leverage. He can now threaten foreign politicians with sending Vance over to campaign for them.
No, but I doubt it helped Orban. JD Vance really lacks social skills.
Interesting if true. You think he has a chip on his shoulder?
I heard that Orban is a neocon and his side was pretty disappointed with him. I can't be too surprised.
Sending Vance anywhere is giving that country a gift of 200 pounds of manure. Doesn't take a genius to figure out he's going to stink things up for you.
I would think Orban's links to Putin did him the damage.
Most of the EU and the world cannot stand Trump or Vance and their interference in a foreign election only has embarrassed them more!
No. US politicians don't really matter far outside their Emerald City.
I'm more concerned about the election in neighboring Thirstary.
Who gives a shit?
I don't think so, just a conincidence.
Too bad Hungary won't have cheap oil anymore... now they'll just be puppets controlled by Ursula.
