A gay man in Iran was reportedly beheaded by his family members after they had found out he was gay.

Is the response his family members had a natural and reasonable response? Or can society at large affect the psyche of those within it, to such extents that they act irrationally to things society has conditioned them to hate?

Familes are affected by society. In my society for example, being gay isn't accepted so I'm pretty sure my parents would do the same to me if I was gay or lesbian just to uphold their image in society
