On tv people say 30 year old women are not attractive and men go for much younger women?

in reality i get asked out all the time by men of all ages. But on tv I see a concept of much younger women going out with much older men...

Because that´s difference between media and reality. Many guys are not good at estimating a woman´s age and therefore we try to get in contact with any woman we think is an adult and we find attractive. Therefore it´s close impossible to give a general age at which a woman becomes unattractive to guys in general.
Though it´s true that many guys are into younger women there are also some that are into older women.
I don´t think there is an age marker that makes women unattractive.

They're full of it. I've known plenty of women in their late 20s and early 30s who were both physically attractive and likeable as people, which more often than not makes them better catches than the young and dumb.

I think TV does this because it's meant for people to fantasize over and I feel like most men fantasize about such things but in practice that's not what they actually want

Men do the best they can and often that is settling for someone older. However, if a 30 year old goes to a dance with a girl that looks like her 20 year old twin, she will be sipping her drink while the 20 year old is dancing or else, she will be dancing with the 20 year old rejects or men that dare not ask the 20 year old because experience has taught them that she will turn them down.

I would ask out a 30+ year old woman. I find 30+ year old women attractive. The issue for me as a man in his 40s is whether she'd say yes or find me too old for her and refuse to go out with me. Don't mind the fiction; as long as you have kept your body natural and have not battered or disfigured it like many women your age or younger, you're fine!
