Do you think women should be equal to men and vise versa?

Should be yes, but despite efforts with the best intentions that dosent work out. Like affirmative action hires. Yes just talk about the military, woman wanted to serve, enough complained so they got in, they couldn't pass the standard fitness test the males do so they got their own test, then the women felt discriminated and demanded the same test as the guys but they still couldn't pass it so instead they lowered the standard across the board.
I may be a bit off there I don't pay much attention to the military cause I'm not exactly for it but I'm 90% that stuff happened.
Anyways assuming I'm right we have weaker soldiers now.
Or they'll hire people based on skin color ( not white) or their genitals (not male) Joe Biden made a big stink about hiring a black woman for senate, ok fine then sleepy Joe, sense her skills or her as a person didn't matter, just her fucking gender and skin then I will never bother to learn her fucking name, she is "token black lady". Nothing against her personally, hell I barely know her (cause I don't care) but how many better candidates did he pass over cause they were a white female, or a black man, or heaven forbide a white man?
To many people confuse equal opertunity with equal outcome, or worse don't give a fuck about equal opertunity and only want equal outcome.
It's not as straight forward as people tend to make it out to be. Due to individual effort, choice of job and overtime being a factor. Also choice job, even at the same company is going to impact the same company. For example someone working in the office at a oil company isn't going to make the same as someone doing field work at the same company. Because field work is demanding and dangerous work. So a woman or man who chooses to work in the office isn't going to make as much as a woman or man that chooses to work in the field.
Also when it comes to raises things like effort, overtime, time with the company and quality of work will factor in. So rather then being angry about someone of the opposite gender getting a bigger raise then you, ask yourself what they did to earn it and what you could have done to earn more.
Lastly no one is in titled to a equal outcome and no one should be. Because that invalidates everything on a individual level. Meaning that despite a person putting in more effort, overtime, having more time at a company and their work being higher quality the new person with a crap work ethic makes the same as them? Hell no, hell fing no! It's called taking pride in your work. If you won't take pride in it you are entitled to make less then those that do.
Again, absolutely.
We should be treated equally. Gender, sexuality, race or ethnicity - shouldn't play a role in how we get treated.
Now, I'm in a country with decent gender equality, of course - we're not completely there yet but I'm happy to live where I do, we have equal rights. Even made a new maternity/paternity law - fathers should get more. Which will benefit men - because they become more of a primary caregiver to their children opposed to it hanging on the mother.
There are other groups in my society that met more inequality than I do & I think it's time to fight their battles.
I would like to see fields not be male - female dominated; we should be able to work what we do, without the individuals going through shit for being the wrong gender. Men in nurturing fields - women in constructions. People going after the job they excel in - not a job that is "fitting" to their gender.
@dovendyret or being forced to work at all. I'm not suited to working. Its not my strong point. Yet I'm powerless to change things to the way they should be. To be so that everyone is happy and doing what they love to do. Not what society wants them to do or expects them to do.
Equality should be in some fields, not all. Pay, (for a majority of fields) for one because if both parties are making equal pay that means more money in the bank right? Hate to say this but sports (the only thing I could think of cause I’m tired asf) will forever remain unequal. Male sports are watched more often than female sports unless it’s the Olympics, therefore whatever pay should not be equal. Maternity/paternity leave (preferably paid of course and at least a month or two but America is shit and that’s asking for too much unlike other countries). If women get it, why can’t men? Fathers should be able to get time off to bond with his child and help his wife. The legal system is a jumbled mess. If a woman lies about rape, send her to jail and vice versa. Not every mother deserves the custody right, give it to the father. There’s a lot that could be said but I wanna sleep

I believe in equity, not equality. Equality basically means men = women, which is wrong, because x cannot be equal to y, it's 2 different variables in algebra. However, they both have the same importance, if that makes any sense.
I also believe women have the right of choice. Choose between work and a family, but they cannot have both. They can't have both not because I don't think they should, but because it's the reality. If a woman want to have a career and be married, she will likely have to hire a nanny, which is not something I would be comfortable with in my household, trusting a stranger with my kids (I have my own reasons for that). People can disagree with that ofc, but I think nobody else can raise your kids better than you.
Men are more equipped to handle stress. That's why we work. We can juggle between work and family. We are hunters, we like to provide. Women are better with people, which is why they are better caretakers. Most teachers are women, most nurses are women, and a good number of doctors is also women. Thus, it makes more sense for the mother to take care of the kids, while the father works.
The other distinguishing aspect is assertiveness and agreeableness. Men are more assertive and more disagreeable, so they are more likely to end up in a leadership position due to that. More likely to quit their job, rather than stay with the same job. More likely to take risks. All these things have to come into account when we are comparing the earning amount of both genders. The women that have those traits generally earn a lot, but they also end up being terrible partners, because men look for a woman that is agreeable and feminine when they date.
In short: for men, the same things that make you great at work, make you a great husband.
For women, the traits that make you great at work, make you a terrible wife.
This is why I say that you have to choose which one you want to be, a career woman, or a house-wife.
I agree. Equal opportunity 100%. No discrimination against women based on gender alone. If a woman can do the job as well as a man, she should not be denied based on gender bias. Electricians, construction workers, plumbers, mechanics, truck drivers, engineers, and even professional sports. Give them a chance. Some can do it and some can't. If they can't compete, then that's fair and square. Nobody should get a job simply based on their gender.
History is replete with discrimination against women, even under the law. That has mostly been corrected, but there is still an old boys network. Gender discrimination, just like racism, still exists. But it's more covert.
When it comes to relationships, my wife and I are equals. Neither of us is the other's boss. We make decisions together and share and share alike. We're best friends and partners, building a life together.
The only other problem is danger to women from assault, due to their size and strength. The only way to fix that is with education and a change of attitudes.
I think everyone should have equal opportunity but implementing this is the biggest challenge. I think the better question is how do you know when it's actually achieved?
Imagine are world where racism actually didn't exist any longer. We'd still have the haves and have nots unless greed became a trait humans get past.
I think the hardest part is actually how to measure this. Who monitors this? Equal opportunity does not mean we will all attain the same level of socioeconomic status. So how do you actually enforce opportunity when we are all far from perfect, have biases, and can't even agree on basic human rights?
What happens when someone feels like they're not being treated equally but aren't as prepared as someone else for the next promotion as an ex. There's so many variables that almost make it feel unachievable because of our own imperfections as humans.
If I'm correct, which I hope I'm not, then how can we get as close to this ideal of equality that everyone wants?
Because women are physically weaker, society is gynocentric. Meaning they are catered to in every way. Women who claim they are “oppressed” in todays world can never state an actual oppression and are reduced to using shit third world nonsense as their scapegoat.
For women to be equal to men they would have to lose all the benefits they are given... like quotas that allow them to get positions which they are not even qualified for.
they would have to lose all the Endless female only clubs, groups, funding, scholarships, government assistance, housing, shelters, Court bias in their favour for criminal punishment, custody, divorce, and school bias in their favor, ETC
And I know that the response will generally be that women need a lot of these things because they are so underprivileged, which is an absolute first because women have been protected and provided for since the beginning of time.
When it comes to shelters men are equally abused in relationships, 71% of non-reciprocated violence is female to male Period and women use more violent Memes like weapons when they abuse their partners and men do not have the support in society to simply call the cops or leave because again there is no shelters for men.
more women go to post secondary, less women drop out of school in general.
Women commit equally horrendous crimes.
70% of abuse children by a single parent are by the mother.
men live shorter lives and receive almost no medical funding as opposed to women’s health issues which do not kill women at the level that meant issues kill men.
so for any of the pink that wants to comment and And use child is shaming tactics like “incel“ because I am pointing out facts look any of this up before you bother.
(and feminist sources are not legitimate)
Please... not this again.
Women are living in the golden age! Literally every law is supporting women!
Even when false rape charges are pressed and every evidenc is against the woman, still the woman wins the case. What more do you want?
"When it comes to society a persons sex has no influence on how they’re treated."
You could not be more wrong. Otherwise women would not have demanded equal rights and all such things.
Gender does matter. Really matter.
Gender based reservations are there. Corporations are instructed by the Govt. to hire more female staff than the current level.
This question is not applicable in today's world.
I dont know if you know this or not
But according to law in India
A wife has a right to file a police complain against husband and in some care the husband cannot file a case against his wife if his wife has already filed a complain against him
So in a specific way a women has more right than men
And that's what modern women want they want unlimited right and no liability, I personally came around some feminist in real world who wants to just kill all the men in the world
Well that feeling is very mutual
That is already happening. There are way more men killing women then women killing men.
@Daniela1982
But I sure know it for a fact that there are way more women mis using laws against men then men do against women , it's very easy for women to pretend victim and society in general falls for that easy
@daniela1982 Watch Section 375 on Amazon Prime and you will understand it.
Have you ever seen a female school shooter?
@Daniela1982 We both are talking about problems respective to our countries. The states having the school shooting problem. India having false cases problem. Women exploiting the laws.
Its funny how the laws made for someone are used by another. Not even used, but exploited.
@Daniela1982 not yet but no one is taking any Garuntee there won't be one ever but we have female serial killers if that's a point
People should be treated equally irrespective of their gender, race or any other differences except for the required skills, talent, punctuality and other work related traits.
But what does equality mean? Do you want 50% women working in every field? That would be disastrous. In my opinion, equality means not considering the person's gender while hiring for a job. For example, I have 50 applicants for a certain job and I have to select only 10, I would only look at their performance. I would NOT choose them as 5 women and 5 men. Because, that is being sexist in my opinion. That's like saying, "women can't make it on their own skill, so we have to reserve positions for them!" I think equal opportunity is equality.
We should all live life as an equal and if you find somebody struggling you help them it doesn't matter what that struggle is you don't judge a person upon that struggle but you live life daily you help people in need and you trust in you respect people the same way you want to be trusted and respected there's no better than somebody else there's different levels of human beings just because one day somebody can do this and you can't doesn't mean that that's not going to change the opportunity in the chance has to be there that's all
Yes men should be equal to women.
that being said in 99% of careers they can get paid the same or somewhat the same (experience regardless of man or women does dictate more pay if both man and women has 20 years experience same pay if 1 has 10 years the other has 20 not equal pay the more experienced person gets paid more).
sport women will never get equal pay then men, the pay is based off of revenue, The more eyes you bring to the screen or events the more you get paid. Men bring more eyes to the screen so men get paid more.
In some things yes & others well no.
Biologically some things are equal but others aren't: let's say both the biological genders have skin, being the largest organ, biologically also male skin cells are much thicker than female skin cells, access to services & resources, is a yes. But not the case fully yet, access to females services after being the victim is more open compared to male victims having the same access to the services. There are lots more examples in the scientific perspective on equality & societal perspective on equality.
From a societal perspective yeah
But I feel like job standards shouldn't change between mail and female just that way more females can get the job or more males can get the job because that isn't actually equal rights and such thinking can be dangerous but yeah if a man can vote a woman should vote if a man can dance naked in the street singing in the rain then a woman should be able to do the same not that anyone should be dancing naked in the streets singing in the rain but you got the point
It doesn't matter whether you do or you don't, it's not a choice. Ideology is very nice, yet it only exists on paper, never in practice. No matter how how you try, you will never be able to treat men and women as being equal, because they're not, and your subconscious reflexive instincts know that.
You will always treat men as being more responsible for their actions (whether that's their achievements in the workplace or in crime), than you do women. And likewise, you will always treat women as being more in need or protection an provision, even if that protection is from their hurt feelings from watching men die to protect them.
This is a fact of life, and you're not going to change it.
Ideally that would be great but that’s never going to happen. For me it would be good because as a male in the medical field you get abused. If someone is too heavy to lift or move call the men. Patient too aggressive call the male. Can’t roll patient over on the ground who fell out of the bed call the male. Patient is verbally nasty to women call the male. Female nurse doesn’t want to be this patients nurse because he’s too mean or rude, give him to the male. I can’t speak for every facility in the medical field but the places I’ve worked it’s always been that way.
Lol, I've to lift people constantly, I've been verbally assaulted, physically assaulted and had my life threatened more than once - I've had to tackle a knife out of someone's hands.
- In my field, we don't have any men to call; to few of them because of the inequality of the genders. It's a "woman's field", men aren't supposed to be nurturing. Would change with equality - I hope it does.
There should be equal opportunities of education and trying things out..
But the promotions and the pays should go to the people more qualified regardless of gender.
For example... female models make way more than male models, male athletes get paid more than female athletes... but that's got nothing to do with gender, it has to do with demand and returns.
Men and women have the same value and are equally important because god created men and women to work together, take care of each other and love each other unlike these days, it's all fights and revenge between both genders!
A man and a woman are different physically and mentally, also their roles might be different but they complete each other!
The conclusion is that under the laws men and women should be the same and in a workplace treated the same IF they are giving the same and who gives more will earn more...
Still a woman must respect the masculinity of a man and a man respect the femininity of a woman...
Then we should be equal in all things. Women want jobs usually associated with men, like a cop. They say they can handle being shot at and dealing with bad guys. Good, then the next time they have a draft then women should be drafted too. If women want to compete in men's sports then have them play NFL Football. They would never make the first down. If we want the same rights and jobs then let's do it across the board instead of picking and choosing.
@TheCloud2 No, I'm 5/6.5 and 130 lbs.
The question is flawed... you said "do you think women should be..." Who is saying they are not equal? In the end it always come down to personality and skills... but man or women that are more attractive looking are more successful in general. That's more of what it is all about then their gender.
legislatively, women in the west have more rights than men, so egalitarianism would actually require women to forfeit rights in order to achieve parity. I believe everyone should have access to the rights they are willing to accept the corresponding responsibilities for. If that causes entitles freeloaders of either gender to lose rights do be it.
Civilization by definition is pulling away from primal stuff! Biology has nothing to do with rights. Everyone deserves to be respected and deserves the same rights as each other. Everyone has basic human rights and that includes women.
Personality matters, not what's in someone's pants.
When the laws are made so that both sides are equal then we'll talk.
Rights are given by those in power. They can just as easily be taken away.
When you vote you aren't actually doing anything. If voting actually made a difference we wouldn't be allowed to do it.
Candidates aren't elected. They are chosen before an election is even announced.
The rest is just a show to make you think you have a choice. But you don't really.
How do I know this? From observing the world and the way its run. Not in our best interests.
