Should be yes, but despite efforts with the best intentions that dosent work out. Like affirmative action hires. Yes just talk about the military, woman wanted to serve, enough complained so they got in, they couldn't pass the standard fitness test the males do so they got their own test, then the women felt discriminated and demanded the same test as the guys but they still couldn't pass it so instead they lowered the standard across the board.
I may be a bit off there I don't pay much attention to the military cause I'm not exactly for it but I'm 90% that stuff happened.
Anyways assuming I'm right we have weaker soldiers now.
Or they'll hire people based on skin color ( not white) or their genitals (not male) Joe Biden made a big stink about hiring a black woman for senate, ok fine then sleepy Joe, sense her skills or her as a person didn't matter, just her fucking gender and skin then I will never bother to learn her fucking name, she is "token black lady". Nothing against her personally, hell I barely know her (cause I don't care) but how many better candidates did he pass over cause they were a white female, or a black man, or heaven forbide a white man?
To many people confuse equal opertunity with equal outcome, or worse don't give a fuck about equal opertunity and only want equal outcome.21 Reply- +1 y

Also choice job, even at the same company is going to impact the same company. For example someone working in the office at a oil company isn't going to make the same as someone doing field work at the same company. Because field work is demanding and dangerous work. So a woman or man who chooses to work in the office isn't going to make as much as a woman or man that chooses to work in the field.
Also when it comes to raises things like effort, overtime, time with the company and quality of work will factor in. So rather then being angry about someone of the opposite gender getting a bigger raise then you, ask yourself what they did to earn it and what you could have done to earn more.
Lastly no one is in titled to a equal outcome and no one should be. Because that invalidates everything on a individual level. Meaning that despite a person putting in more effort, overtime, having more time at a company and their work being higher quality the new person with a crap work ethic makes the same as them? Hell no, hell fing no! It's called taking pride in your work. If you won't take pride in it you are entitled to make less then those that do.20 Reply

We should be treated equally. Gender, sexuality, race or ethnicity - shouldn't play a role in how we get treated.
Now, I'm in a country with decent gender equality, of course - we're not completely there yet but I'm happy to live where I do, we have equal rights. Even made a new maternity/paternity law - fathers should get more. Which will benefit men - because they become more of a primary caregiver to their children opposed to it hanging on the mother.
There are other groups in my society that met more inequality than I do & I think it's time to fight their battles.
I would like to see fields not be male - female dominated; we should be able to work what we do, without the individuals going through shit for being the wrong gender. Men in nurturing fields - women in constructions. People going after the job they excel in - not a job that is "fitting" to their gender.31 Reply- +1 y
@dovendyret or being forced to work at all. I'm not suited to working. Its not my strong point. Yet I'm powerless to change things to the way they should be. To be so that everyone is happy and doing what they love to do. Not what society wants them to do or expects them to do.
Equality should be in some fields, not all. Pay, (for a majority of fields) for one because if both parties are making equal pay that means more money in the bank right? Hate to say this but sports (the only thing I could think of cause I’m tired asf) will forever remain unequal. Male sports are watched more often than female sports unless it’s the Olympics, therefore whatever pay should not be equal. Maternity/paternity leave (preferably paid of course and at least a month or two but America is shit and that’s asking for too much unlike other countries). If women get it, why can’t men? Fathers should be able to get time off to bond with his child and help his wife. The legal system is a jumbled mess. If a woman lies about rape, send her to jail and vice versa. Not every mother deserves the custody right, give it to the father. There’s a lot that could be said but I wanna sleep

I believe in equity, not equality. Equality basically means men = women, which is wrong, because x cannot be equal to y, it's 2 different variables in algebra. However, they both have the same importance, if that makes any sense.
I also believe women have the right of choice. Choose between work and a family, but they cannot have both. They can't have both not because I don't think they should, but because it's the reality. If a woman want to have a career and be married, she will likely have to hire a nanny, which is not something I would be comfortable with in my household, trusting a stranger with my kids (I have my own reasons for that). People can disagree with that ofc, but I think nobody else can raise your kids better than you.
Men are more equipped to handle stress. That's why we work. We can juggle between work and family. We are hunters, we like to provide. Women are better with people, which is why they are better caretakers. Most teachers are women, most nurses are women, and a good number of doctors is also women. Thus, it makes more sense for the mother to take care of the kids, while the father works.
The other distinguishing aspect is assertiveness and agreeableness. Men are more assertive and more disagreeable, so they are more likely to end up in a leadership position due to that. More likely to quit their job, rather than stay with the same job. More likely to take risks. All these things have to come into account when we are comparing the earning amount of both genders. The women that have those traits generally earn a lot, but they also end up being terrible partners, because men look for a woman that is agreeable and feminine when they date.
In short: for men, the same things that make you great at work, make you a great husband.
For women, the traits that make you great at work, make you a terrible wife.
This is why I say that you have to choose which one you want to be, a career woman, or a house-wife.00 Reply5.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I agree. Equal opportunity 100%. No discrimination against women based on gender alone. If a woman can do the job as well as a man, she should not be denied based on gender bias. Electricians, construction workers, plumbers, mechanics, truck drivers, engineers, and even professional sports. Give them a chance. Some can do it and some can't. If they can't compete, then that's fair and square. Nobody should get a job simply based on their gender.
History is replete with discrimination against women, even under the law. That has mostly been corrected, but there is still an old boys network. Gender discrimination, just like racism, still exists. But it's more covert.
When it comes to relationships, my wife and I are equals. Neither of us is the other's boss. We make decisions together and share and share alike. We're best friends and partners, building a life together.
The only other problem is danger to women from assault, due to their size and strength. The only way to fix that is with education and a change of attitudes.10 Reply- 792 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yI think everyone should have equal opportunity but implementing this is the biggest challenge. I think the better question is how do you know when it's actually achieved?
Imagine are world where racism actually didn't exist any longer. We'd still have the haves and have nots unless greed became a trait humans get past.
I think the hardest part is actually how to measure this. Who monitors this? Equal opportunity does not mean we will all attain the same level of socioeconomic status. So how do you actually enforce opportunity when we are all far from perfect, have biases, and can't even agree on basic human rights?
What happens when someone feels like they're not being treated equally but aren't as prepared as someone else for the next promotion as an ex. There's so many variables that almost make it feel unachievable because of our own imperfections as humans.
If I'm correct, which I hope I'm not, then how can we get as close to this ideal of equality that everyone wants?10 Reply - 1.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yBecause women are physically weaker, society is gynocentric. Meaning they are catered to in every way. Women who claim they are “oppressed” in todays world can never state an actual oppression and are reduced to using shit third world nonsense as their scapegoat.
For women to be equal to men they would have to lose all the benefits they are given... like quotas that allow them to get positions which they are not even qualified for.
they would have to lose all the Endless female only clubs, groups, funding, scholarships, government assistance, housing, shelters, Court bias in their favour for criminal punishment, custody, divorce, and school bias in their favor, ETC
And I know that the response will generally be that women need a lot of these things because they are so underprivileged, which is an absolute first because women have been protected and provided for since the beginning of time.
When it comes to shelters men are equally abused in relationships, 71% of non-reciprocated violence is female to male Period and women use more violent Memes like weapons when they abuse their partners and men do not have the support in society to simply call the cops or leave because again there is no shelters for men.
more women go to post secondary, less women drop out of school in general.
Women commit equally horrendous crimes.
70% of abuse children by a single parent are by the mother.
men live shorter lives and receive almost no medical funding as opposed to women’s health issues which do not kill women at the level that meant issues kill men.
so for any of the pink that wants to comment and And use child is shaming tactics like “incel“ because I am pointing out facts look any of this up before you bother.

Women are living in the golden age! Literally every law is supporting women!
Even when false rape charges are pressed and every evidenc is against the woman, still the woman wins the case. What more do you want?
"When it comes to society a persons sex has no influence on how they’re treated."
You could not be more wrong. Otherwise women would not have demanded equal rights and all such things.
Gender does matter. Really matter.
Gender based reservations are there. Corporations are instructed by the Govt. to hire more female staff than the current level.

A wife has a right to file a police complain against husband and in some care the husband cannot file a case against his wife if his wife has already filed a complain against him

People should be treated equally irrespective of their gender, race or any other differences except for the required skills, talent, punctuality and other work related traits.
But what does equality mean? Do you want 50% women working in every field? That would be disastrous. In my opinion, equality means not considering the person's gender while hiring for a job. For example, I have 50 applicants for a certain job and I have to select only 10, I would only look at their performance. I would NOT choose them as 5 women and 5 men. Because, that is being sexist in my opinion. That's like saying, "women can't make it on their own skill, so we have to reserve positions for them!" I think equal opportunity is equality.00 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. We should all live life as an equal and if you find somebody struggling you help them it doesn't matter what that struggle is you don't judge a person upon that struggle but you live life daily you help people in need and you trust in you respect people the same way you want to be trusted and respected there's no better than somebody else there's different levels of human beings just because one day somebody can do this and you can't doesn't mean that that's not going to change the opportunity in the chance has to be there that's all
00 Reply3.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes men should be equal to women.
that being said in 99% of careers they can get paid the same or somewhat the same (experience regardless of man or women does dictate more pay if both man and women has 20 years experience same pay if 1 has 10 years the other has 20 not equal pay the more experienced person gets paid more).
sport women will never get equal pay then men, the pay is based off of revenue, The more eyes you bring to the screen or events the more you get paid. Men bring more eyes to the screen so men get paid more.00 Reply
+1 yIn some things yes & others well no.
Biologically some things are equal but others aren't: let's say both the biological genders have skin, being the largest organ, biologically also male skin cells are much thicker than female skin cells, access to services & resources, is a yes. But not the case fully yet, access to females services after being the victim is more open compared to male victims having the same access to the services. There are lots more examples in the scientific perspective on equality & societal perspective on equality.00 Reply
+1 yFrom a societal perspective yeah
But I feel like job standards shouldn't change between mail and female just that way more females can get the job or more males can get the job because that isn't actually equal rights and such thinking can be dangerous but yeah if a man can vote a woman should vote if a man can dance naked in the street singing in the rain then a woman should be able to do the same not that anyone should be dancing naked in the streets singing in the rain but you got the point00 ReplyIt doesn't matter whether you do or you don't, it's not a choice. Ideology is very nice, yet it only exists on paper, never in practice. No matter how how you try, you will never be able to treat men and women as being equal, because they're not, and your subconscious reflexive instincts know that.
You will always treat men as being more responsible for their actions (whether that's their achievements in the workplace or in crime), than you do women. And likewise, you will always treat women as being more in need or protection an provision, even if that protection is from their hurt feelings from watching men die to protect them.
This is a fact of life, and you're not going to change it.00 Reply
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yIdeally that would be great but that’s never going to happen. For me it would be good because as a male in the medical field you get abused. If someone is too heavy to lift or move call the men. Patient too aggressive call the male. Can’t roll patient over on the ground who fell out of the bed call the male. Patient is verbally nasty to women call the male. Female nurse doesn’t want to be this patients nurse because he’s too mean or rude, give him to the male. I can’t speak for every facility in the medical field but the places I’ve worked it’s always been that way.
01 Reply- +1 y
Lol, I've to lift people constantly, I've been verbally assaulted, physically assaulted and had my life threatened more than once - I've had to tackle a knife out of someone's hands.
- In my field, we don't have any men to call; to few of them because of the inequality of the genders. It's a "woman's field", men aren't supposed to be nurturing. Would change with equality - I hope it does.
There should be equal opportunities of education and trying things out..
But the promotions and the pays should go to the people more qualified regardless of gender.
For example... female models make way more than male models, male athletes get paid more than female athletes... but that's got nothing to do with gender, it has to do with demand and returns.30 Reply- 1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.

A man and a woman are different physically and mentally, also their roles might be different but they complete each other!
The conclusion is that under the laws men and women should be the same and in a workplace treated the same IF they are giving the same and who gives more will earn more...
Still a woman must respect the masculinity of a man and a man respect the femininity of a woman...00 Reply
+1 yThen we should be equal in all things. Women want jobs usually associated with men, like a cop. They say they can handle being shot at and dealing with bad guys. Good, then the next time they have a draft then women should be drafted too. If women want to compete in men's sports then have them play NFL Football. They would never make the first down. If we want the same rights and jobs then let's do it across the board instead of picking and choosing.

Candidates aren't elected. They are chosen before an election is even announced.

Are you aware there have been cases in which an under age boy has been raped by an older woman, and then forced to pay child support soon as he turned 18 because she decided to get pregnant?
I'm not downplaying the hardship women face in the world, yet you are doing that to men and boys. When it comes to the types of discrimination men face, you don't know what you are talking about.
Opinion Owner+1 yDid I say men that dont getraped? A 14 years old on average is physically stronger than an adult woman. So men can defend themself at least while women need guns which is illegal in Europe
Opinion Owner+1 yGetting raped by men is worse than by women in my opinion. At least it is easier defend yourself from women and she does not stick her nonexistent dick in you aka physically harm you.
Opinion Owner+1 yThis type of discrimination does not happen all over the western world and it is still not bad as getting opressed aka getting gangbanged for showing your hair, get killef for leaving your religion, for getting forced to marry an old man who rapes youand make you get many kids etc.
Opinion Owner+1 yAs a woman you should be used to get sexual harrassed when you go to Clubs or live in fucked up european cities/countries thst dont punish the rapists in a proper way. There was a 15 years old girl who was gang raped and filmed but the rapists are still outside

Opinion Owner+1 yI would not complain when they made guns legal. If the state dont want protect us, i want to protect myself on my own. I dont even go outside late; i wear very modest clothes etc and still get harrassed at mcdonalds as at 15🙃.
Opinion Owner+1 yThe problem is also that rapist victims increase since refugee crisis. They should abort any criminal refugee at least
Opinion Owner+1 yBut i am still happy to live in a more conservative country in Europe unlike germany despite being liberals since the leftists go crazy and even most famous old feminist in germany think that left is gone crazy and only harm women due to refugee crisis, and other bs
Opinion Owner+1 yIt is not ok to rape men. I am just saying you can defend yourself better from a woman than men. There is a reason why majority of male rape victims were raped by men
Opinion Owner+1 yWhat do you mean by not physicallly resisting? Are you talking about statutory rape? If yes, age of consent is 14 where i live. I have known a lot 14 years olds who date 19-21+ adults. Unfortunately, it is not a huge issue. In my opinion it is disgusting
Opinion Owner+1 yAgain women raping men/boys is a huge issue. Men on average still can defend themself better from women on average rather than from men. This is why majority of rapists are male-not man. So it is not even safe for men.
Opinion Owner+1 yLook i want both men and women not to get discriminated. Marriage laws or women quotes are discriminating men which for example. I may overreacted it in my first posts
Opinion Owner+1 yI am sorry if offended anyone

I've literally just told you these boys where forced by the state to pay child support to their rapist as soon as they reached adulthood.
My point is you are downplaying male victimization in society, pretending only women face discrimination and victimization by the state or opposite sex, sexual or otherwise. You are wrong. If you want to stand up for your rights as a woman, then all the power to you, i'll support your right to do that. But don't tell outright lies about men as if the grass isn't pretty shitty on their side of the lawn too.
The first case i remember that happened about 15 years ago in the States, where a mum gave her sons 12 year old friend a bj, and he told his mum soon as he got home feeling humiliated. Only just last month here in the UK a 50+ year old woman was sending extremely sexual messages to her 13 year old dance student, even after he repeatedly and clearly asked her multiple times to stop, until he eventually told his mum who called the police. Having the hard evidence plus her confession, legally it was a cut and dry case, and yet she didn't spend a day in jail. Her sentence was 100 hours of community service and being placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years. Hardly a harsh sentence, and that a cut a dry case with no grey area of evidence as far as the law is concerned. Hence, you claiming that women are facing a special type of discrimination under the law that men don't also face when it comes to sexual assault, is false.

And no, that's not true either. When you use the standard of enthusiastic consent, the number of women raping men is not only nearly as high men raping women, but it's far higher than men raping men. The reason for the gap in the crime statistics is simply because it isn't reported. In pretty much all countries, a woman forcing a man to have sex against his will legally doesn't actually count as rape.
What country do you live in? In mine the UK it's 16, and that's considered low for western countries, with the US being 18. - +1 y
And actually no, as far as the law is concerned men can't defend themselves from women. The law is quite clear that you're not allowed to hit a woman. There have actually been cases in which a man has called the police for help because his wife was throwing plates at him and such, and then the police came to the door not even asking what happened, but rather just arrested him while he's covered in his own blood. As far as the police are concerned men are not allowed to defend themselves from women, otherwise they will be treated as the abusers.
Opinion Owner+1 yI am done with you. You are just putting words in my mouth and just want to pick from the context what you want. F off. What i am saying the The whole time is You will never have bad as opressed women with no rights in middleeastern countries which is a fact. You can talk about your issues but dont act like you have worse as these women with no rights in these countries
Opinion Owner+1 yAnd when westerm women talk about their problems they get called feminazis, or their problems are seen as first world problems on this site/gag. At least i dont say that you annoy me with your first world problems 😃
Opinion Owner+1 ySo self defence laws are saying you should not hit women?
Opinion Owner+1 yA girl got almost raped by a refugee in austria and since she managed to get her knife, she rescued herself and the offender run away with her purse till he got caught by the police and the girl is charged with bodily harm now even though police is accusing him too
Opinion Owner+1 y- +1 y
Have a talk with a police officer some time, and ask them what their policy is when it comes to women hitting men, and then men hitting the woman back in self-defense. A woman that slaps a man in public is ignored. The man who slaps her back in public, is quickly on the ground in handcuffs.
Opinion Owner+1 yThen you live in a f up country
- +1 y
I do live in a fucked up country. About... 6 years ago i think, a woman who had a history of violent assault, being in jail like 9 different times given short 2 week sentences, could have killed a man, and they just let her go with a slap on the wrist.
She was in a pub, a guy dropped his e-cig, and she picked it up for him. Then she asked "are you not gonna thank me?" and he responded "no". She then responded by glassing him, nearly blinding him in one of his eyes for life. And she wasn't given any jail sentence, just given community service.
That case of the Austrian, i'd rather have more info before i made me mind up. It doesn't say what level of evidence there was and how many times she stabbed him. When it comes to defending yourself with weapons' there is a grey area, both in regards to the evidence you was under attack in the first place, and only doing the bare amount to make them stop. Excessive force will be counted as assault. For example a few years ago in the states, a guy blow a guys head off in responce to being pushed over.
With this case it depends on how many times she stabbed him. If it was a lot, and it was large enough, that could be regarded as excessive force that doesn't fall under self-defense, since self-defenses require the smallest amount of reasonable force to make the other stop. That being said, it is also possible they defended the guy on the basis he's a migrant and hence protected. Same reason why the muslim grooming gangs have got away with it for years in the UK, because the police are basically told to look the other way at risk of them going to jail for hate crime or something.
Opinion Owner+1 ySofar i know till he stops and run away with her purse (?) She does not hunt him and stabs himThere were witnesses too
I can understand when someone In this situation is irrational since this person panick and may stap the other person too much.
Opinion Owner+1 yI am also sorry when these people get killed
Opinion Owner+1 yI am also not sorry and gave no emphaty when these people get killed
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yIn the West today men and women already have equal rights and opportunities and have for a long time.
The problem is that "equality" between sexes is subjective because men and women are inherently different. For example, what is "equality" in the context of reproductive rights?00 Reply12.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No. As we aren't. Not in any sort of misogyny or misandry way. But the skillset experience and workforce dynamic is too different to parachute one into the other carreer path.
10 ReplyGreat idea but will never completely work (just like Marxism can't work). Unless you can get adults who truly believe this is the way things should be and then isolate them with no outside influences so all the children are brought up to think this way (and then it will still be a challenge) you will never be able to change the minds of those who disagree with it.
00 Reply662 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes, I do. There is no reason to favor one sex over another, have one sex get paid more simply on the basis of their being a male. etc. Not fair at all.
02 Reply- +1 y
That is an uninformed statement. Men don't get paid more for simply being men. That's just a leftist trope to pretend there's a problem when there isn't
8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I am honestly of the opinion that the biological difference between men and women is so negligible that I could not care less to even make the distinction in the first place.

Why is it people born in the 1940’s dictate how modern society should act? It boggles my mind in all honesty. We need younger people in power that can relate and understand the modern generation.

At least in my country, you are eligible for your pension at a few years before 70. In some cases it can be even sooner. The problem is that the government allows these people who are eligible for a pension to remain in the workforce, they receive the a percentage of the pension and the salary, so that's like a promotion to stay in the workforce. The problem is that this way they lock a position in a company which could be given to the next generation or a younger, more qualified person, but they don't.
If we want to be treated like guys, then we will have to ready to loose some of ours benefits to be a woman, that's all ^^

Probably the most sensible answer I saw for this question.
+1 yOf course women shouldn't be equal!!! 😯😠
They are far superior and should be the dominant sex! 😋🥰00 ReplyIn what ways? Men are better than women in some ways, and women are better than men in other ways. We’ll never be equal in everything, and hope that we never will be.
00 ReplyEqual, no.
Equity, yes.
Everyone should have food, a home, internet, etc. No matter what. A McDonald's employee shouldn't be practically homeless unless a brain surgeon should be too, unless brain surgeons don't eat.00 Reply

+1 yPlease just don't complain. Right now you are having everything you want. Because every hard labour goes to men. They are affected. So just stop complaining about equality. I don't see anywhere women is discriminated in the US
11 Reply- +1 y
Talk to women in primarily male dominated careers like Engineering or Tech industries. Plenty of discrimination for coworkers, employees and the higher ups. Same goes for men in more female orientated careers. That bias is still there.
1.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I was under the impression that we do already have total equality, or at least here in the UK.
11 ReplyThis is exactly what I believe. Equal in opportunity, not equal in outcome. We all need to earn the outcomes we hope for. But we should try and make it so we all have the chance to do it equally
00 Reply4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Abuse is abuse.
There's some caveats that should exist for children and elderly.
But abuse between legal equals should be seen equally.
And when it comes to mutual abuse between equals, I say we should stick both in the brig.00 Reply- Show More (73)
