My stand on your view goes like this. Entertainers dont deserve in my opinion millions of dollars, not men, not women. The only group that does is those who risk their lives on daily basis at work, so others unknown may live. Their contribution is what I value more than money.

In theory but there are still stigmas for men and women who pursue various careers. Eg Male teachers and caretakers or female Tradies and Engineers. That cultural bias is still very rife.

The issue is that women have equal rights - in that article, the things they are asking for are gender-specific social benefits, not rights. And that's why they don't have them 40 years later, and won't have them 40 years from now.
Equality has been achieved under the law. It may not be in practice everywhere, but that's why the law exists:so that lawsuits can make corrections.
