Is black really not a color?

I personally believe that black can be defined as a colour.
they say that black is the absolute absence of colour, but if this were true, black wouldn’t look like anything at all. It would look like nothing.
This is why I believe that black is the absence of light, but not colour.
So, in conclusion, black is the absence of light, but not colour, and a truly colourless would be impossible to describe in words.

Then you are personally wrong and need to educate yourself on the matter.

The absence of light, is nothing, as the human eye can only perceive via light. The absence of colour, is black as there is an absence of any colour

from a scientific definition, black isn't a color because color is your brain's interpretation of wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation (light). If there's no light for your brain to interpret, there's no color.

from an artistic perspective though, black is a color.

There is only red, green and blue. All other colors are shades and mixtures of primary colors.
