Should people consider Russians the modern form of Hitler's Nazis?

From Putin to the red armies rape of Ukrainian and killing of innocent people. Is this what Russian's are? Simple another Hitler? Has the Russian's invading of Ukraine changed your perception of Russian's in general?

Most of this Russian aggression is Putin’s ambition to restore Russia to the power it was in the Soviet days. Putin and his lackeys have absolute control of the government. Anyone who runs against Putin in elections mysteriously dies or gets imprisoned for ‘treason’ or some other scandal. Putin has total control of the media, so he doesn’t have to moan about ‘fake news’, he can just make up his OWN news, and he can brainwash Russians with things like ‘Nazis in Ukraine are oppressing ethnic Russians there. We need to invade NOW!’

Most of the invading Russian troops aren’t even sure why they’re in Ukraine. They were probably never told about Chernobyl, and their superiors tell them to dig foxholes and trenches in radiation contaminated soil. The ethnic Russians in Ukraine have been stirred up by Putin’s propaganda for years.

In 1941 Harry Truman said when Germany invaded Russia; "If the Russians are losing we need to help the Russians. If the Germans are losing, we need to help the Germans.
Truman knew, rightly so, that the Communist Russians were just as bad as the NAZI's.

They also invaded Ukraine in the same ways that Nazi invaded Poland.

Demonizing an entire nationality is always gonna be weird. Its only useful to do zo to drum up a war effort. Russian people are just Russian people. Political figures make political decisions for whatever sum of reasons they can muster.

In broad terms, they are quite similar.
