The mainstream media never gave a rat's ass about anything other that remaining a viable business operation. Get to know some real live Ukrainians (coming soon to a place near you!) if you want the real news about that situation, and study as much non-mainstream media as you can find.
All of them are going to have some kind of a bias and the "truth" is generally somewhere around the middle, not that it's ever static. You could say that, along with being the first victim of war, truth is a constant work in progress.

That's a cop out. CNN lost over 90% of its viewers in the past couple years. Guess who they're owned by? The same company that owns the television and streaming networks.

I think the situation is more horrible than they are letting on. They want people to remain favorable to pro ukraine efforts by paying slightly more for gas and whatnot but they don't want people to think its so horrible that they'd rather just give Putin whatever he wants than endure. But media control is critical in any war - wars are won when soldiers lose the will to fight and not one instant sooner or later. And the press is almost entirely what determines when that point will be, be the information real, exaggerated, or even completely false..

I tend to agree with everyone's intent, just not their faith in their sources. When the far right fake news hasn't really touched on a topic yet I usually get very few people disagreeing with me on those topics. But give it time and I'm sure the pro Putin wing of the right will soon have people convinced it is actually a cheery and necissary thing that Russia is doing and so people should stop supporting the Ukrainians who by the way are a nation dedicated to grooming, crt, immigrant caravans, and Hunter Biden's laptop 😅.
