Why isn't welfare taxed?

IN the United States, no Taxes are withheld from Welfare checks because no taxes are owed. However, Social Security IS taxed. So if Social Security is taxed, why isn't welfare?

It's not that SS is taxed.. but if you earn over $25k outside of SS then your other income is taxed. Also if you take early SS payments (early in your 60s) instead of waiting you'll get less money over your lifetime. So that's sort of a tax on families who aren't rich enough to not need SS, in my opinion.

But most likely a lot of welfare isn't taxed because the whole government game is to charge men as much as possible. Men pay most of the taxes. I doubt they want a single mom to have to pay taxes on government cheese. That would send money flowing in the wrong direction.. ha ha.

That’s not how that will workout. That taxed money gets misapplied. Their amounts increase. They have to buy 💩 and pay my Rent…. It goes back into the Financial Sector- Best Buy’s etc…they get taxed at purchase

But if the government gives people who have not enough to live money it would be quite stupid, if these people would need to give money back in form of income tax or other form of tax.

Welfare is paid with taxes, governments don't have any money it's money from taxes.
Paying taxes from taxes doesn't make much sense.
