We have about 400 years of history on how stock dividends work. UBI works the same way with people having a universal equity on something like automation production. Government could tax robots equal to the burden people working the same job. So long as you tie it to a productive thing there is no inflation.

Alaska been doing this since the 80s with oil. We get $1000 to $2000 a year living in Alaska. If you buy coke cola or ExxonMobil you also get a dividends.

200 years ago, 95% of the workforce was in agriculture. Now it's more like 3%. Yes, it's true, machines took all of those jobs away from people who loved being out in the hot sun everyday.

Once upon a time, women washed clothes in the river and used rocks to scrub them. Then those fucking washing machines came along and stole their thunder.
Now women have to just watch TV and wait for the timer on the machine to go off.

Machines have been replacing human labor for hundreds of years. I love the idea of machines doing the boring, tedious work. So don't blame Elon for him wanting machines to do the manual labor.
It's insane for humans to be doing shit that machines can do better and faster.

Humans shouldn't be doing mundane things like slicing bread and putting the loaves in bags. Let the machines do it.

So then the question comes in about how will people get money. A UBI is one way. Jacque Fresco envisions a world where you won't need money. But that's a long ways off, and probably not in our lifetime. So who will kick in the money for the UBI? Businesses. They will be taxed, and that money will go for paying people their UBI checks.
And UBI isn't new. Just look at people on welfare. And even large corporations are on welfare.

Bill Gates believes robots should pay an income tax. I don't like that idea. Just tax the factories. Even with the heavy tax, the factories will still come out ahead, because of the money they save by not having humans working for them. A robot will work 24/7, with no benefits or vacation. A robot will never file an L & I claim or sue a company.

Yang screwed up by asking for the amount to be so high. He should have proposed that the UBI start out at $100 per month per person. Next year it's $200 per month. It just keeps increasing every year.

The robots are coming and so is the UBI. It will happen so gradually that you won't even notice it.

Either way, global warming causing droughts and sea level rise is going to sort out the imbalance.

I'm not advocating for genocide, I just think we should have a global moratorium on breeding and let nature do its thing.

Those empty farms will grow back into forests and absorb lots of co2.
