Anyone else getting sick of politics?

I know I am. Add politics to a group of people and you very quickly see them fracture.. I'm just so sick of it.

It's extremely fucking annoying to say something and politics comes in when it's not relevant. I made a post about how Apple is detecting nudes sent to and from minors, and giving warning to said minors if they really want to do it. Someone had to bring in politics saying "liberals are pedophiles"

Yeah. My post was because I was questioning the morality of it. Apple will warn a minor "Make sure you feel safe, but the choice is yours" but will allow them to still send it.

I'm not at all sick of learning the motives behind local, state, national and international politics. I think such knowledge is essential.
I'm just sick of talking to people who are positive they know what's going on because they heard in mainstream media but don't actually have any clue at all.
It's a joy to talk to people who do know what's going on, and especially to people who know more than do I.

I am sick of watching TV about politics - but it's like when you see a car accident - you don't want to look at it, but you do anyway. I guess I watch with hope that one day they will announce some good things instead of all bad things, but I doubt that will happen 😕

I think there's value in being able to rationally and non-emotionally speak about it with your friends, but it's not fun when someone mistakes hate speech and 4chan trolling for politics.

I’m not sick of politics I’m sick of politicians. Why the hell are western countries taking on 80 year olds to lead their country with the common sense of a trout? They are all business minded then you see other leaders smashing it and thing WOW. Thing is, no matter which party you choose anymore you lose. In a way, yes. Nobody should have to dedicate this much time to politics to actually be informed. It's unhealthy. Ironically, this is one big reason why Libertarianism should be the standard. People's rights shouldn't constantly be I. Jeopardy, there shouldn't be countless laws and policies constantly being made. People should be able to live there life more or less not even getting involved with politics. But that's now how it is nowadays.

Yes, I’m sick of the disingenuous news and politicians. It’s good to be informed about what’s going on politically around the world but it’s also good to take a break if learning about that kind of stuff takes a big toll on your mental health

Politics is nothing but a black hole that sucks the life out of you along with your soul. However, it's a part of growing up. At some point you cannot ignore it. There is a reason why the country is so divided. Libs love the government, government is their god. The day when we can be apolitical again, I cannot wait for it.

The problem with politics is that if you don't pay attention to it enough, it will eventually become harder and harder to avoid as it will become more and more a part of your daily life.

Covid is the prime example of this.
