Look at success records
Identify skills required and experience... e. g. none of last candidates had military experience, trump had some in college, current guy dodged draft, pence and kamala had nada.

Media... ugh... it needs dealt with by where to start.

not sure... it's a mess. I like people like Sarah Palin, Trump, Tulsi Gabbard... those who are not career politicians but ran businesses, or military figures... who have to solve problems in reality. I don't favor those who are just career lawyers and politicians.

Term limits. 12 terms for Representatives, 4 terms for Senators, 2 terms for presidents, 25 years for Supreme Court Justices.

Age limits for all politicians. No one over age 75.

Fines for any news outlet or political person broadcasting misinformation.

people treat their political party like their favorite sports team

and all they end up doing is just throwing insults at the other side and nothing is accomplished except more people being mad at each other over minor disagreements

Eliminate corporate lobbying, put in a max age for every elected position, and eliminate bribery and stock trading for politicians (e. g. Yellen's "speaking fees" for companies she's never spoken at or had a token arrangement with - it's not a fee, it's a bribe by another name).
