Should Paul Revere🐎🇺🇸 be on the US $20 bill and not Andrew Jackson?

From what I remember, Paul Revere was not racist or xenophobic. The guy was a genius, had many talents and he made America a country. He had a disdain for British taxation and rule, NOT the common British people.

What did Andrew Jackson do, apart from the Trail of Tears and inciting hatred?

Jackson killed the first Federal bank, probably preventing the kind of economic stagnation that would've doomed the country to being an economic backwater. He also pulled off the Trail of Tears, which, awful as it was, prevented what would otherwise have exploded into the biggest genocide in history at the time, and possibly even the biggest one in history even today.

Paul Revere didn't do much but warn a militia of an approaching army, which he then GOT CAPTURED BY.

Also, we don't punish people for their beliefs, as objectionable as we may find those beliefs to be; that's what free religion IS, full stop. Nearly every last human on Earth in those days was pretty bigoted; that's no reason to remove them from currency.

Andrew Jackson was once the President of The United States, like him or not. He deserves and will receive for historical reference the same recognition and status as any other president. As U. S. citizens it is infantile to erase our history because certain people or groups are offended by a person or event. Put on a pair of big boy/girl pants and study him in spite of your presumptions. Then learn from him and allow your feelings, good or bad, to define your own morals. Apply those and allow or disallow history to repeat itself. Turning our backs on real people who existed, some as framers of our Constitution, breeds ignorance and no sense of identity. Stare history down, digest it…and make a difference for a better future.

Didn't Andrew Jackson also hate banks? Massive hostilities with the entire financial system and the president. It does seem odd in every way you look at it. It could be a oliver branch or a big middle finger puttinghim on the most ubiquitous tender, it's honestly hard to read.

Regardless we should change our money more often. Our money is dull and boring. Paul revere in mythos was the guy saying "the British are coming the British are coming" then lit one lantern for land two for sea. That's how i remember it off handedly.

Andrew Jackson won the Battle of New Orleans and a few other major battles in the war of 1812.

I'm not going to defend his persecution of Native Americans, however, some native American tribes probably deserved to be persecuted, as like it or not they practiced cannibalism and human sacrifice in some cases, although that was more of a central and south American problem, it happens to be the case that the Navajo practiced cannibalism, although their modern descendants usually try to conceal that fact.

Well he's the only president who was able to pay off all of our national debt. He was also instrumental is helping the government regulate its finances. @purplepoppy I've heard this my whole life with my sister when I was a child she used to have séances and she brought Paul revere‘s name up and she would always yell out the British are coming the British are coming from time to time talking about Paul Revere around the house. She doesn’t do séances anymore she was a teen back then and I was just a little child it was just an experimental thing with my older sister. But yes it’s real big news in America Paul Revere warning the Americans giving them notice that they’re on their way the British he was well known for riding on a horse real fast yelling out the British” are coming the British” are coming for a long time. And don’t forget the big Boston tea party where we Americans dumped the British‘s tea over into the Boston River saying no thanks we don’t want to pay your taxes We’re free we have our own country.
