Nope. It's a plant. Drugs are made by pharmaceutical companies.
Hemp/cannabis/marijuana isn't even a dangerous plant. In fact it's a very useful plant. It's potential uses are endless. For example, it can be used for cordage, cloth, building material, paper, and fuel. And help is an extremely renewable resource. We'd be better off using it instead of trees and fossil fuels.
As far as its drug status is concerned, coffee, coco, tea, soda pop and other beverages contain caffeine. Tobacco contains nicotine. We don't consider any of those to be dangerous "drugs". Alcohol is a intoxicating if abused but it is not restricted except to minors. And it is potentially far, far more dangerous than marijuana. Sugar is addictive and dangerous if over used. Food is dangerous if over used. Almost anything is dangerous if over used or abused.
Abraham Lincoln once said his favorite thing to do was to sit on his porch, smoke "sweet hemp" and play his harmonica.
Marijuana isn't even physically addictive like caffeine, nicotine, alcohol or sugar. Those who get addicted to pot do so simply because they like to get high. Chronic usage may change brain chemistry, though, but not necessarily harm or impairment.
I oppose the idea of treating a natural plant as a drug and regulating and criminalizing it. Datura isn't regulated or illegal. Many plants are dangerous and even deadly but aren't illegal.
I don't care if people choose to smoke weed on occasion. Many, many responsible people with important careers do. I don't care if they smoke tobacco or drink booze, either. It's not my job to control people's lives.
How did the word hemp get replaced with the word marijuana and why? To make money for William Randolph Hurst. Read below:

yes its a drug but drugs are not inherently bad or evil. I love my morning cups of coffee and the caffeine is a drug. Most Americans are addicted to sugar, the cravings are harder to quit than cocaine. Not that it does what cocaine does but you get my meaning. All things in moderation if you'd like. I personally have tried numerous forms, doesn't agree with my biology. I prefer coffee and the occasional martini.
It is a drug.
But it's less dangerous than other drugs we consume daily as average people: caffeine and sugar.
Weed, unlike coffee, isn't going to kill you even if you smoke more than Snoop Dogg.
Weed, unlike sugar, is not chemically addictive (though it can be habit forming for people).
It is a drug, but it's not the same kind of drug as harder things like cocaine or meth.
If marijuana is a drug, so is coffee and sugar. Try to quit those!
So, no, my answer is no.

My brother smokes it all day. He says he can't sleep or eat without smoking, he needs it to feel normal or to even start his day. He says he can't eat food without taking a hit first. When he tries to quit it the withdrawals are crazy. He'll be throwing up, can't keep food down. Can't sleep, craving it so bad and I think he goes through hot and cold flashes. Not too familiar with all the physical symptoms he's feeling but they're bad. So yes it's a drug and I hate pot knowing how dependant my brother is on it. He always goes back to it. He'll get clean and talk about how he hates it and he doesn't need it and he'll even cut up his ID so he can't get any. Then he'll be clean for like a year or maybe over a year. Then something tigger's him and he'll go off the wagon for a long time.
I'm not going to vote because marijuana is a drug, it's not something that can be debated just like alcohol, caffeine, and tobacco are all drugs. But it's absolutely misclassed as a Tier 1 drug in terms of danger. As far as the Feds are concerned, marijuana is more dangerous than opioids, fentanyl, crack, and meth. Which is why the Marijuana epidemic has ravaged the country to much greater degrees that the opioid epidemic, urban crack and rural meth epidemics with massive body counts, and fentanyl getting mixed in with plenty of drugs that cause people to drop dead from overdose. Right?
Cookie I voted yes in terms of the active substance (THC) in the marijuana plant. It's a naturally derived drug. But that doesn't necessarily mean that I support criminalization of possession and use of it.
Caffeine is a naturally derived drug of coffee plant beans.
If you get stopped in your car with eyes blood-shot red and you are reeking of marijuana smoke, the Officer will answer that question for you... lol

Nope... just white man n their BS narratives Again!
That medical plant has been around and has been used for centuries by Black and brown people with no issue.
. Let's not act dense here... All that bullshit pharmaceutical crap is DRUGS. But interestingly enough... its not illegal 😉
Yes, it's a drug. Anyone who tries to deny it is just looking to make an excuse. I'm Dutch, my friends smoke weed, my dad smokes weeds, I don't give a fuck. But yes, it's a drug. Just like alcohol. They are substances that cause physiological effects on humans, drugs.
Looks like a plant to me
I guess it depends who you are if you use it to get high on it could be considered a drug. If you use it because it takes the way the pain I could be a a life saver
The entire plant is not a drug only the parts which contain the THC, but i guess you would call it hemp if you are asking about the leafs and all the other bits.
It is a drug, so is alcohol. People that smoke weed don't go out and crash their cars into others. Typically they stay at home and eat snacks
typically yes, maybe... but cannabis is still involved in 20%(it used to be 9% years before spread legalization) of the deadly crashing car accidents (40% for alcohol, and 10% for both cannabis and alcohol involved)
Yes, just like paracetamol is officially labeled as a drug, so is my medication for epilepsy a 'drug.'
I (legally) grow some myself.
It's a drug when you USE it as a drug. But some varieties have little potential there.
To me it's a medical herb and for cooking.
It's a drug but I don't think it should be illegal
However just as you shouldn't be drunk in public you shouldn't be high in public either
of course it is a drug. it would be idiotic to call it not a drug. just like alcohol is a drug. or coffee. or sugar, or heroin, which apparently is as addictive as sugar...
Sure. But its like how caffeine is a drug, except this one does a lot more lol.
it is a drug 1000%
same as tabaco and alcohol
It's a drug. It doesn't make addicted like heroin or cocaine after few lines but after months of use, THC and CBD create a serious addiction that shouldn't be underestimated.
I put it in the same class as alcohol, all be it a safer alternative.. So while it's a drug, it's not as unsafe as alcohol.
Yes, it is not a harmless plant. Anything that can make it impossible to get off the couch is having a profound effect on your brain. Nobody knows the cumulative effect of it. We will be finding out in 20 years I imagine.
Caffeine is a drug... as is Tylenol, ibuprophen and nicotine... so yes
I do. I also classify it as a legal substance similar to alcohol in the cases of not using either under the influence while driving or at work.
Yea its a drug just like other drugs that has its own uses and not for addiction purpose. It treats inflammations and relaxes muscles.
Yes... it's a drug. That's a fact it's not really up to interpretation.
Yes, but with the understanding that this cup of coffee I'm having right now is far more dangerous.
Its definitely a drug just like caffeine and alcohol but that doesn’t mean it should be illegal
Its technically a drug. Compared to drugs it just doesn't seem like its on the same level
It is a drug, maybe not a strong one, but it's still a drug and it needs to be regulated.
Yeah, I do, but I place it in a less malevolent category of drug. I wouldn't use it, though.
Yes it’s a drug. Not a bad drug, but a drug nonetheless.
Yes, but most claim to use it for medical reasons, so who knows it baffles me
Yes sure but it’s legal in a lot of states
yup. alcohol is also a drug
If government was smart the would tax less on people and open up pot and tax heavy
No. It never was a drug.
Yes. Because it is. Same as alocohol and nicotine.
in my opinion it is a drug.
Yes I do and I don't do marijuana.
Yes but so is aspirin so
Nope
Is consider it an herb 🌿 😶🌫️
I wanna say no but I could say either or really
