All these people saying that a man already has the option to opt out of child support by not having unprotected sex are hypocrites because women obviously have that same option. But when women make a mistake they can get an abortion. The vast majority of abortions are just "birth control" after the fact. Men currently have no such choice.
Yes, of course men should have the right to opt out of being a parent just like women do. There would of course have to be some strict requirements. They would have to let the pregnant woman know of their choice early enough in the pregnancy that she can make an informed choice about whether she wants to abort or continue with the pregnancy knowing she will be a single mother without financial support. The woman would need to notify the man of the pregnancy early enough to make that choice in time to meet the requirement. If she doesn't, she forfeits her right to child support.
This is the most fair scenario we can have for both men and women. Today, reproductive laws are extremely unfair to men.
Of course, all of this goes out the window if abortion is not legal.

A man always has the option of not paying child support. He just needs to make sure that he doesn't get a girl pregnant. I don't think either should be able to obtain an abortion just because it would be convenient. The child can always be placed for adoption if the mother agrees but, if not, the guy knew the consequences before he went sticking his diddle in her middle.
Yeah I think so because a woman shouldn't be forced to carry a pregnancy to term just like a man shouldn't be forced to pay child support for a child he doesn't want or isn't prepared for. I think fair is fair. I find it funny how a lot of pro-life men complain about child support lol. I don't see how the two compare. These two aren't the same thing.
They already have an option to opt out.. The option to use a condom, or the option to get a vasectomy, or the option to just not have sex...
Being careless about sex, and then thinking they should be able to walk away from their "actions" with no consequences, yeah no that's not how life works...

I think that if a woman was with a man, got pregnant, and the man said they didn’t want to have a baby or be responsible, it shouldn’t be on him. At all.
Of course. Both women and men should get equal and full chance to back out of responsibility for an unwanted pregnancy.
Yes, that should have been the way it was for a while but I don't know if we will ever strike that balance.
Dave Chappelle's Abortion Stance from a few years ago sums it up rather nicely.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/MoudH-RPnEENo, Jamal, you're still not done paying child support
How are you going make a comparison between ending a pregnancy, and supporting a child? Those two things are not equivalent.
Sure, why not?
