I find it impossible to believe that most of you are rebellious. Especially when it comes to hot button political issues; there's rarely any nuisance here on GAG for any of those.

Once I started waking up, I began agreeing with the masses less and less. It became apparent that mainstream media's job was to manufacture consensus while appearing to practice journalism. Entertainment is also in lock step with the "news" in reinforcing the manufactured consensus. And just like religion, if everybody you know believes the same thing, it must be true. LOL

I develop my own opinion on each individual issue based on research, information and logic, and I can modify or change my opinion as more information becomes available. I don't give one F about political party affiliation, identity politics, ideological labels or brainwashed consensus.

It pisses me off to be duped or manipulated.

When it comes to ethics, I am buoyed by the fact that the majority of people are kind and generous and try to do what's right. I am not a cynic. I don't act like a victim. But I'm also alert and vigilant. I try to follow the Golden Rule. But I'm more rebellious than most people when it comes to blindly obeying authority.

You can say I'm mix of B and C. But do lean on the Rebellious side a lot more then Group Member. Because people try to conform so much they stop thinking for themselves and refuse to take a stand against the group they aligned themselves with when the group is in the wrong. Simply because that means they will draw the ire of that group or be kicked out of it. So I'd much rather be a black sheep then conform to the point I become a sheeple.

I'm the same way. Like the moment I said I hate the pro-life argument and how it's based purely on emotional and morality and absolutely no logic or reason. I said how the right is constantly moral-fagging over abortion, but does nothing to help the existing people already living in this world. And many people on GAG disliked me for it, even though I've said time and time again I'm NOT a Conservative, despite being very anti-woke and anti-progressive.

I agree that group-think is harmful, but I also think most people on GAG are group-thinkers and conformists, so I'm not sure I believe these results.

I tend to get both sides of a given debate angry at me and pretty much always have. The pattern I have notice with both sides is that they quick result to name calling and taking pot shots and more of then not it's because they can't refute what I'm saying. I guess that's what happens when you present a well thought out and logical argument that can't be challenged. Especially when that argument makes it very clear that you are not 100% aligned with one side or the other and calling out both sides for their actions. So it's like people wind up thinking I can't refute his argument or present a counter argument that can stand up to his, so I'm going to result to childish insults. Because that is all I have left and can do at this point.

As for abortion. It takes a man and woman to create a child. So both men and women have a obligation to prevent a unwanted pregnancy. The majority of times a unwanted pregnancy is the result of both parties being unwilling to meet their obligation to prevent one. So rather then endlessly debating over about itself people should be beating into each others head the fact that people need to stop being so stupid about sex. Because if more people where smart about it wouldn't be such a huge issue. Given the fact that the amount of unwanted pregnancies would start to quickly fall

In the cases of sexual assault it should be a option. Because the simple truth is that sexual assault does a lot of damage on a mental and emotional level. Forcing a woman to carry the child of their rapist is more going to do even more damage. So it introduces a situation where a woman could be very likely to attempt to abort the child herself or outright kill herself. Also just because it's an option does not mean that every woman at that situation is going to take it.

I agree with you. The one thing I will say though is that I don't expect people to be more intelligent and logical about these issues.

You are right in that if people weren't so reckless and immature about sex, abortion wouldn't be an issue at all, especially from the right, where people will sleep with everything that moves, then hypocritically talk about abortion, as if having loose empty sex nonstop is at all consistent with thinking that you care about pregnancy or "interrupting the natural reproductive process." If someone really was pro-life, then would only be having sex when married, or at least with someone they're willing to create a child with; not f*cking everything that moves, then bitching about "abortion being baby murder."

I can disagree with people just fine, but hypocrisy and excuses just pisses me off, especially ones based on emotions and not logic or reason. I'm not perfect myself and I certainly make mistakes or get things wring. But I at least TRY to be smart and do the right thing everyday, rather than making up excuses and BS for everything, which is something both the political left AND right do, all the time. (Although the left does it a lot more these days.) People can rarely admit that though, cause they are always playing on a team and it always becomes "us versus them," while they overlook all the issues on their own "team."

In general I have a very, very pronounced independent streak. It's actually the reasons why I don't do well in relationships in general. Because it can cause issues with my relationships with friends and family. Simply because I can drop off the face of the map for a time due to it and some people can't handle it. When I need or want to do something I'm to do it and I'm going to do it by myself. So more then likely you will hear about or see pictures of what I was doing when I'm done doing it. Also don't assume you can tag along. Because a lot of the time I don't want anyone to do so.

So once it becomes a case of we, us and all of us or any version of I'm speaking for everyone, I'm instantly out. Because the only person that has any right to speak for myself is me. So the moment someone tries to speak for me, I'm not exactly happy with them. Also I'm fully capable of thinking for my self. So the "as a [insert group here] you think" assumption isn't going to fly with me. Because once again to I'm fully capable of thinking for myself and no one else has right to think for me. In the end if you want to know how I feel about something or what I think about something, you better be coming to me.

Before this can really be answered you need to define what the masses opinions and ethics are. Which is not really an easy thing to do as it changes depending on where you are.

My opinions very quickly get into alex jones territory so I guess I would disagree with most but hopefully that will change soon and people will wake up!

In most cases, I agree with the majority. However, if the 5% of logical people have one belief and the other 95% have different belief, there are only two possibilities. Either the 5% of logical people are correct or else neither are correct. In those few cases, I will agree with the 5% of logical people.
