Does Iq matter? Whats it like having a high iq?

I have a low iq, about 80, and I was wondering two things. I think my low iq makes it hard for me to read and focus and stuff, but do you think its important in life? And also if you have a high iq, what is that like?

Dude, you might have a low IQ, but you don't post like you have a low IQ. So maybe that whole theory is worth crap. Crazy Horse probably had a low IQ too, but he kicked the crap out of the United State Army.

I have never taken an IQ test but from what I have read about it, it seems that there are factors that might end up affecting the score that is independent of your actual intelligence. Factors like being told whether or not you will fail, your ability to manage stress while being timed, the amount of sleep you had the previous night etc.

I don't know how much those will affect your score but if my assumption that you can take it as many times as you like is correct, I would try not to worry about it so much. Far be it for me to say that though.

I tested in the bright/normal range. The guidance councilor would not tell me the exact number. I think that IQ does matter although ambition and tenacity will matter more. THere are plenty of people with high IQs that never reached their full potential and just drifted through life,. Most Fortune 500 CEOs have average IQs and attended non Ivy League colleges.

What’s it like having a high IQ?

Kinda lonely. No one ever knows what the hell you’re talking about. I dumb myself down somewhat when I’m trying to date. In my opinion and experience people say they like “smart guys,” but really that’s just a euphemism for being successful—which really just means being financially comfortable with a disposable income as well as having the outward trappings of conspicuous consumerism.
