I don't know when this started, so I'm not blaming Trump, but it seems that the Republican party is running on a platform of divisiveness and hate. They seem to focus on deepening the divide between people ( poor vs. rich, female vs. male, white vs. nonwhite, etc.). Do other people see this?

As someone who grew up with a lower income level, mixed race, and in the south, no. Of course there are always bad apples in a barrel, but in general no.

I can think of exactly two times when someone has genuinely brought up either my race or income level. One was when a Democrat campaigner came by our little house that we are fixing up, and told us to vote for them because they are going to try to raise the food stamp amount. We weren't on food stamps, they just assumed we were because our place looked poor.

The other time was when an old Democrat man told my mom that he hated Asians coming to America because then 20 of them pack into a tiny house and ruin the neighborhood. This was right after he was defending open border policies.

It seemed like the opposite to me. Trump created opportunities while democrats gave handouts. Biden had a program to bail out farmers. The thing was that only farmers of color could qualify. He chose his cabinet according to race and just appointed a supreme court justice on the basis of skin color. You cannot get more racist than that.
While Trump was in office the democrats lost the majority of the Hispanic vote and he got the highest percentage of the black vote of any Republican in history. He united this country and only the fake news said he was divisive because it doid not fit their agenda.

Interesting. Because I just saw the sitting president of the united states declare a winter of death on the unvaccinated and support mandates to fire people who won't take the clot shots. He also started claiming that the republicans are 'ultra-maga' whatever the fuck that means. Sounds like you're projecting.

Of course they are. They stopped trying to govern long ago, and now are solely focused on remaining in power for their own benefit. Their campaigns are all about creating a fear of outsiders.

ALL sides of politics do that. And honestly, the left spreads divisiveness and hate far, far, FAR more often. I'm not even right-leaning and I've rarely ever seen that coming from the left.
