What political moves would you make? to improve the USA?

I'm not here to debate. I'm just looking for ideas. Here's a few.
Term limits for all elected public servants at all levels.
Eliminate all public service unions, including teachers.
Repeal the 17th Amendment providing for popular election of US Senators.
Balanced Budget amendment to the Constitution.
Picture ID for all Federal elections but outlaw "motor voter".
I'm sure there's more.

I honestly believe this country has to reign in the media somehow. A free press is perhaps the most important part of a democracy but it has to be honest and fair. THEY are the biggest threat to our democracy, because they are the ones responsible for keeping power in check but they have become just as corrupt as those they're supposed to hold accountable. Instead of calling out corruption, they actually are accomplices when it fits their agenda. How you could hold them accountable is the tough part. They used to hold each other accountable but as Hunter's laptop proved, those days are over. They have become what they used to pride themselves as fighting against.

I am opposed to term lmits. There are positions in government which reuire time and experience to develop competence, such as finance and taxation, oversight of military, oversight of education, and others. Term limits eliminate people as they are developing competence. People staying in office too long is the fault of the voters and thei is a very imperfect solution to that problem.

Completely disagree. There is no reason for someone to sit in congress for an unlimited amount of time. They lose contact with their constituents.

@Bhrinthainn I have worked in a state house so I have some firsthand knowledge in this area. It's okay to disagree but I think most people chant "term limits" just because it's a popular idea.

It’s unfortunate that blocking the wants of both sides has become the norm for the past couple decades. We need someone with the brass to change that mindset. Make people interested in politics again. Make people want to care what others are thinking not just toss hate around. Get a mindset like that and more people get what they need generally.

The changes you want to implement are not feasible. The American political system will not allow them to take place, and even if it would, the American citizenry would be at each other's throats over it.

The American Empire has simply run its course. It is too dysfunctional and too inwardly conflicted to be salvaged. We are too far in debt, our military hegemony is weakening, our currency is weakening, our demography is too large and diverse for our political system to be able to properly serve it.

The only way forward is to try to head off any civil wars, and negotiate a partition of the empire now between the different ethnic groups that populate it in a peaceful manner. If we insist on trying to sustain or reform this empire, we're only gonna implode and make the Soviet and Yugoslavian collapses look tame by comparison.

Universal basic job. Particiption in politics is a one weekend per month duty with guaranteed income. For the unemployed this can be full time. Participation must be at least half time non-partisan.

All elections are runoffs. In the main election if the person you voted for loses then you get federal cuts to your tax rates.

Profit tax starts at 90% but can be reduced to 0% if the company meets certian criteria (pro union, environmentally conscious, etc..)
