” A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Chain of command. Officers. Obeying the legal orders of the duly elected civil representative for your state or country. Usually males aged 17-45.
It means they should be well regulated by the government. Not a free for all.
And what does ‘well regulated’ mean to you specifically?
It means making sure they pass background checks and have training to use those firearms.

Properly functioning.
As I recall, they did not care for standing armies at the time. So in order to have the ability to call for a militia, the people needed the right to keep and bear their arms. A militia would hardly be "properly functioning / well regulated" if they were not familiar with their weapons.
I don't really care what some 300 year old piece of paper says. I am going to keep my rifles and buy more. :)
Last i checked that almost 250 year old piece of paper is still that law of the land. So it applies to you whether you want it to or not.

@Still-alive there's hundreds of millions of guns in America, legal and illegal, taking guns away from law abiding civilians just puts them in danger, and criminals will always have access to things, hence they don't follow the law, remember i said there's hundreds of millions of firearms in america? there's a few thousand shooting a year, its sad yes... but I've noticed you and many others only care when the news talks about mass tragedies like what happened in Texas, and not the day to day violence that unfortunately happens nationwide. You only care because the media are making it political and exaggerating the volume of deaths as if it were millions when its clearly thousands, or you'd be Mouring the losses of 200+ innocent people that died last week to gun violence.
You didn't care when Joe Biden himself funded the Taliban $85.6 billion in defense assets, firearms and operational black hawks, fighter jets and armored vehicles in the dicey Afghanistan withdrawal. You care more about gun control in America than terrorists being funded by America...
@LaFerrari whoa there… you’re jumping the gun there buddy. First of all i dont want guns confiscated and in fact most sensible people with a brain know there is no feasible way to ban or take the guns away here.
2nd i do mourn often and think the fact that so many use guns to end their lives is a huge fucking tragedy for instance.

you're making a lot of assumptions aboutme here with no basis fir it. You’re just regurgitating what fox or whoever else tells you about leftists
@Still-alive I don't listen to people... it was me on my own talking to you, i have no issues with the leftwingers, or rightwingers, I'm not political and I don't judge others based on their political support. I simply responded to what you said.
@LaFerrari what did i say that indicated i want guns confiscated then?
@LaFerrari lol thats dumb then…
@LaFerrari i said that false conclusion you came to was dumb… not you but if you wanna take it that way
Just like organized crime, but here those people think that they are doing a good thing. They may be doing good thing or may be doing bad thing.
Accountable and checkable. The question is who's responsible for regulating them
Organized and orderly.
A good corporation?
