Look up the concept of civil forfeiture. If you get stopped, the police will bring out a dog, which will alert on the cash because over half of US paper bills have been involved in drug transactions, and the police will give you a choice between forfeiting the cash or catching a drug money charge. The big banks and the government need this rule in place so they can control your money and where it moves with their permission. They don’t want you to be able to leave the country with that much money unless they are getting their cut and that’s only if you have connections. If you don’t have connections you aren’t getting out of the country with that amount of money at all.
