It's the fault of the media. The reason US corruption was held to a minimum was the free press but now they are just as corrupt. They will literally make up scandals or hide scandals, to either get their "guy" elected or the guy they don't like thrown out of office. It has never been more obvious than the last 6yrs.

Where do you get the idea that American politicians are corrupt? Sure, there have been some corrupt ones, but it's not widespread. They are a very small minority.
