For me, when CD's were the thing of the past. They don't even put them in cars anymore from what I understand. Maybe this one; when you go to buy liquor or alcohol and you get carded and the cashier said you're good because there is a "1" in front tof the year you were born. Possibly this one; when you have to put your birth date into a profile or questionnaire online and you have to scroll down for your birth year like you're spinning the wheel for "The Price is Right". Who remembers what a cassette deck was? Anyone remember these cellphones when they came out? Remember how we had to text? Goodness!
I'm not sure. Maybe around the time I hit 50, although 50 seems fairly young to me now. "Old" seems to be a moving target.

I remember the first time I saw color television. My neighbors had one and I'd go look at it through the window. Of course the front door was open because that was before most people had A/C.
When I graduated from high school we still did all of our math with pencil and paper. There was no such thing as a calculator. In college, learning how to use a slide rule was required.
I suppose getting Social Security makes me old by definition. Getting Medicare makes me even older by definition. The next step is mandatory withdrawal from IRAs. The government thinks I'll kick the bucket at any time and wants their taxes before I die.
Actually the thing that probably makes me feel old more than anything else is how out of shape I am. It's amazing how quickly I get winded. I don't like that at all. My balance is not what it used to be either. I did construction work for years and spent lots of time climbing around houses. But I need to start thinking seriously about not getting on the roof any more.

I know a guy who just had shoulder replacement surgery. He says he can do everything the real shoulder can do. He swims a lot and it has been good so far. I got the hip done partly because I was unemployed and also was concerned that Biden would screw up the healthcare system more than Obama did.

Made me remember doing that in high school and realizing my own kids would never do that. Today's kids use so much social media, they don't have a radio, and they would have no clue what it is to go out for the day without an actual destination.
Yes when they first came out they did not work great. Anytime someone called you from walmart or while walking over a bridge the phone cut out. Also the texting was awful especially on flip phones. I thought what a waste of time texting is!
Second time was when vivid memories from my childhood that seem like yesterday where from a year current-adults were born in, like playing Goldeneye 007 with friends in 1997, or seeing 9/11 happen in the 9th grade. All those events happened when people who are now adults were just born! God that makes me feel old...
Things more of fade away and eventually you don't think about them anymore and when you do you realize that... oh wow. Though I still do use CD's sometimes but not a floppy disk
I had one of those motorolas and a tape deck in my car, I listened to Dance Mix 96 on it, lol. I feel old these days when they play Smells like teen spirit on the Classic rock station, or when I comment in the How do I look Section that a 25 year old woman is hot, and some woman my age goes "Eww!" LoL! I guess now I'm just not supposed to see women in their 20's as hot or something? Like as if we change brains at 40 or something.
When I saw a white-haired guy on the screen during a zoom video meeting, and that white-haired guy did everything I was doing! If I raised my hand, he did the same thing. If I stood up, he also stood up. And I thought, "That CAN'T be me!" It was just yesterday that I was young and debonair!
I get my college alumni magazine and I see people who graduated ten, twenty years ago, who weren't even born yet when I graduated! That hits hard. My college roommate passed away last October. I didn't know it until I saw the obituary! Where does the time go?
When I first met my bestie's little brother he was in a car seat. Now he's in college 😭 I felt old a couple years ago when he first went into highschool. He's still a baby to me, it's insane.
When I saw a beautiful young woman and, instead of thinking of how much I would enjoy having her in my dungeon play room, I wanted to take her home for my eldest son because of the beautiful grandchildren that she would produce for me.
Mostly the fact that I grew up without cellphones and the internet. Or even just the time when we all had normal cell phones but smartphones didn't exist yet.
Don't I wish. I wouldn't have the torn muscles in my shoulders, the arthritis in all my joints, the popping knees, the migraines everyday, a good back, and all my flexibility back. To feel 20 again would be nice
