When did you first notice that you started getting older?

Last year was the breaking point for me. I have started getting more cautious about the things around me. I realised that I had been late for too many things till' that moment.😔😔

I was working in the bar scene all through my 20s. Then in my early 30s a started getting promotions where in addition to bouncing, I would help out downstairs at the separate-but-ultimately-the-same-business restaurant downstairs, so I’d be in the kitchen, and I’d be working with the waitstaff, usually our youngest employees, mostly college kids.

So one night I’m down there talking with one of the line cooks who was around my age, and we were discussing our favorite albums of all time. I think I was saying Mobb Deep’s “The Infamous” was one of mine, and just then, the 21 year old kid who would run food to tables and was some kind of EDM DJ came up, and I jokingly was like “Eric, what you about Mobb Deep, young man?” Kid was like “Who?”, and repeated that The Infamous was one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. He just laughed like “yeah right”, and I was “oh ok, hot dog, what’s your favorite album of all time?” Kid smirked at me SO genuinely, that’s what hurt the most😂, and he goes “pffftttt…I don’t listen to ‘albums’…” I was like, “dang…. youngblood just served the fuck outta me right there.”😂😂😅

I don’t know I’ve always felt old/self aware since middle school. While the people around me were too caught up with their phones, music or guys I was worrying about my families financial troubles/grades/future and if I was going to stay in town that night or with my great grandmother.
As for maturing physically I didn’t feel any more mature than when I hit puberty. My legs always pop and crack when I squat down or get up off the floor.(I lost some weight in middle school and have stayed basically the same weight. This made me feel old/ paranoid of arthritis. Nothing much has changed of me except my mind. My face is less soft, my cheekbones are more prominent and I have less acne.

a couple months ago i noticed i had fine lines. didn't think much of it since i was pretty sure that you dont start aging until you're 25 and that you notice stuff before its cos your dehydrated. but then i found out your skin starts aging at 20...

was the wake up call that i needed to start anti aging skincare and be careful to not do stuff often that's unhealthy and bad for me or else that can show in my skin now maybe..

When my kids started growing up fast , it hit me like a ton of bricks that I am no longer up with the times , My kids make me feel old and not as cool anymore lol Things I talk about is things they have no clue what I am talking about like movies or music , they look at me like Ok Dad that was from back then lol

I used to be able to pull all-nighters like a champ when I was studying for exams in uni.

I still do them occasionally for work, but man I used to be able to bounce back so much faster, haha. ☕️

the first time, and it didn't bother me was out 15th year class reunion.
It dawned on me that we had been out of school longer than we were in school.
And getting through school took what seemed like that was an eternity, then it was what do you mean we have been out for 15 years.
Then it was when I hit 45.
I was thinking back what have I done with my life, a failed very short marriage that was behind me, she was doinking the landlord and we weren't getting a discount on rent, I was single no kids, was able to come and go as I pleased, I had responsibilities and I had by that time made a difference in many people's lives.
Crap, I was an adult.
After that it was onward to the next great adventure.

I'd say since I was about 4 years old. I was always sick.
I guess felt "old" at age 20 when the doctor diagnosed me with very painful tendonitis of my left knee.
I used to come home from work and lie on my bed and cry everyday.
You could actually hear this crispy crunchy sound when I straightened it out again.

When I started feeling at peace in the quiet.

I remember being young and playing rough with my siblings, my parents would scold us to be quiet and leave one another alone. These days I have to keep myself from saying the same to my nephews and nieces, even when I know they're having fun.

I love being the clown of the party around family, but I do really need the silence to recover too.

At 25 , I started to get back pain. Pain is the part that sucks the most about getting older. I have either CBD or Tylenol to get through the day. When the weather changes is when the pain hurts the most.
