Is this how people who want more and more gun control laws think?

I see both sides of this.
The Declaration of Independence and the second amendment have a strong legitimate reason for the right to bare arms.
And the government is strictly and specifically prohibited by them to interfile with this right.
Lets take a look at an example.
A child is in the yard with a machete.

What would go through your mind? People all over the world use Machetes for good reasons. BUT this child does not know the dangers or how to use this tool. Once he does that would be different.
Guns are tools as well. They have more danger. And there are loads of people who do not know how to use them. They are accessible by people who do not know how to use them. This part of guns is a very bad thing and is leading to the clamor to ban them all together.
The recent boy in Texas do you know how he got the gun? There are several other mass shootings that the perpetrator got the gun from some one else who did not obviously take the needed steps to make it in accessible.
It is clear that kids beyond the school age and away from the drama needs to be prevented from possessing a gun unsupervised. So 21 makes a lot of sense.
It is clear that the gun control needs to be exercised by those who own guns.
It’s been proved over decades, Americans trying to look at gun control laws is pointless.
However it’s scary that people do not see any problems when they mention arming teachers, fortifying schools, having ex military or police as security.
that no one seems concern kids starting school are taught pretty much from day one, how to react to an active shooter on premises.
what other country in the world teaches it’s kids how to react to a shooter at school or about arming teachers?
Something needs to be done by the American population, not politicians, to remove the situation where it is normal to talk about arming teachers.
the only other place I know where teachers are being armed, is Ukraine and they are fighting a war!
it becomes fucked up where the price for an adult to own a firearm is for their 5 yr old kids to learn escape and evasion from people with firearms, for the same kids teachers to carry concealed weapons, luckily teachers never have bad days or mental health issues.
imagine those fortified schools with bullet proof doors that lock from the inside, then it’s the teacher with a manic grin locking in year 10…..🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸

I would say rather than relying on instagram memes like you posted for their information, many gun control advocates look at actual facts and studies, and base their stance on that:
Higher rates of gun ownership = higher rate of owner dying of gun-related death.
Multiple clinical research studies confirm..
Stronger gun control, fewer guns = lower rates of gun related accidents and death

Unfortunately, a lot of gun advocates don't care about facts and statistics. They care about what "feels true", which is why they can be persuaded by simple minded pro-gun memes like the one you posted on this question. A badly drawn cartoon and some buzzwords is all it takes to convince them that what they WANT to be true, IS true.

I get it. Owning a gun is cool, it's fun, it's kind of dangerous and feels powerful and like it's a tool to keep you safe. But the statistics say if you own a gun, you're more likely to get injured or killed by a gun, that's that. I am on the fence, and I think that while gun control is a good thing, it shouldn't eliminate our ability to get a gun completely, and that owning a gun should be something a person decides to do or not do knowing the risks. Not pretending like there aren't any risks, or that owning a gun actually makes your life safer. That's stupid. That's like arguing that owning and operating a motorcycle (which I do) makes your life safer. It's a calculated risk.
You're giving them too much credit. That is a completely rational thought depicted in the meme, albeit short-sighted. What is actually occurring is a tribal one-up-manship and social pressure. Wherein Most of these people own guns themselves but are driven to speak about gun control as if being led by an unseen hand. You see it in action when they don't have a response to a legitimate rebuttal to their copy-pasted arguments.
"Weapons of war do not belong on our streets!" Two seconds later "The second amendment refers to muskets!"
A sentient person responds with, "were not muskets weapons of war?"
Annnnnd then they block you. Hell I remember two leftists arguing about what firearms have a legitimate purpose. One guy said rifles are good for hunting and handguns are only for killing people (even though they're no more lethal than knives) and the other guy argued the exact opposite saying handguns are for personal defense, and rifles are only used for killing people. I wonder how they'd rationalize Biden's "9mm can blow out a lung!"
If you're a gun owner and understand history and all of these dumb arguments, its a waste of time to engage with this BS at all. Its the new Ukraine flag.
I think it depends how you define "gun control". Because in my case I´d say not necessarily, I´d define "gun control" as a control of who can buy a gun and not banning guns in general. If you want to own guns you can have them as much as you like. I have rather a problem with the costume of selling guns to anyone legally with no need for a sign that they are mature enough to use them responsible and in a healthy way for the community, that´s what sounds dangerous to me. I don´t want to hear arguments like you can´t control the black market because if a person can buy the same weapons completely legal without paperwork then they won´t choose the black market as a place to purchase their weapons.
Nope. They look at other arguments that are not listed here.
For an instance: the amount of gun deaths in america is more than 12 times higher than in any european country and the amount of homicides is about 2-4 times higher (depending on the country you look at). And yeah, in Europe guns are only allowed with permit; for an instance if you have a sport shooting license.
For someone blaming people to have tunnel vision, you sure miss some critical arguments.
America is only 60% white. We are not a 1st world country. Comparing us to Europe is dishonest.
Compared to similar countries like Brazil, Argentina, India, South Africa, Egypt, etc, we actually look pretty good.
@OldWorldOrder I'll agree we've peaked, but we can't judge our issues based in what we will become, if we aren't there yet. Also whites have a majority and even when we don't, we'll still have a plurality. We have a huge plurality and it'll be by over 20% once we are at 50% or 49% of the population.
no. that's just a typical oversimplification of opposing arguments in order to not deal with them. all side use this sort of defamatory nonsense.
if you frame the person holding an opposing opinion as a simpleton who doesn't consider shit, you don't have to deal with their argument. it's lasy and weak.
Pretty accurate. They think you can just legislate the problems of society away. It’s the most juvenile idiocy. “Well there’s a law. It’s illegal.” 🤷♂️
Hey did you guys know that speeding is illegal? It’s a good thing they have laws around that. Otherwise someone could get hurt.
Fucking dolts.
People who support gun control are guided by political ideology and emotionalized propaganda. Mainstream media tells them what to think.
They have never bothered to look deeply into the subject.
Skip to around 17:50 for interview of mom who was handcuffed but got away and ran into the school to save her kids WHILE COPS SAT OUTSIDE DOING NOTHING.
There are three types of gun positions:
Those who are pro-gun
Those who are anti-gun
and
Those who understand how firearms work.
How we think: countries with strict gun control have far fewer gun deaths.
Do you have a list of all "developed democracies"?
mises.org/.../mistake-only-comparing-us-murder-rates-developed-countries
No. It's how dipshits with cognitive dissonance about people who want better gun control, think
Love the meme! Precisely!
Correct. These are the same people who think more laws will cure the drug problem.
If you can answer why countries with gun control have fewer mass shootings then I'm all ears.
Massacres happen in South America and West Asia all the time.
@TwoToTooTutu2 can you point to a developed country? Why doesn't Japan or England have mass shootings? Why doesn't Australia have mass shootings after they enacted gun control? Why doesn't Switzerland have mass shootings? They have lots of guns in Switzerland but tons of gun control.
Why compare us to privileged Europeans and compare us to colonized countries like Mexico or India. That is what we are. We are descendents of surfs and slaves. Not kings and queens
@TwoToTooTutu2 colonized countries, like Australia? Yeah, they are colonized and so is Canada. Both have gun control and a lot less mass shootings than us.
Austria and Canada never left their overlords. They do not compare
@TwoToTooTutu2 both are independent of the UK.
Both bend their knee to the queen
@TwoToTooTutu2 and you bend your knee to every NRA gun nut.
There is no argument or point to that.
@TwoToTooTutu2 you haven't been making any arguments or points at all. You've just been deflecting to irrelevant content.
No thats a lot of ancillary bullshit that clouds idiot minds.
More guns = more gun deaths.
All you need right there.
People think gun control laws apply to criminals in the US or anywhere for that matter 💀💀
