If it was because of doors, if Japanese people moved someplace with more doors, you would expect them to have more gun violence. But that doesn't happen.

Same with suicide. The Japanese have a very high suicide rate, even though they don't have many doors. If they moved someplace with more doors you'd expect the suicide rate to increase, but it doesn't.

It's pretty clear that it's not about doors. It's obviously a social or cultural difference.

Of course you could substitute the word doors with another three letter word and the argument would be exactly the same.
