Why do some people believe teenagers should be able to buy guns for themselves? What makes people believe that most of them are trustworthy enough?

I just don’t think its a good idea because most teenagers aren’t responsible.

Even if they aren’t necessarily set out to become mass shooters, I’m sure a number of them just wouldn’t be looking after their firearms properly.

Nevermind the fact that the teenage mind is known to be super impulsive since it isn’t fully developed.

And I know there are adults who disagree with me but I was a teenager myself literally two years ago.

Back then I would’ve committed suicide if there were an easy way to do it.

So I would like to think that I have a better understanding of people my age than they do. I know many teenagers these days that are suffering from suicide/depression whereas it wasn’t anywhere near as common before.

So because society’s changed the laws need to as well.

After all the federal law for handguns stipulates an age of 21. So why should it be any different for long guns?

I’m all for parents buying their kids guns. But I don’t think its a good idea to have kids owning guns without their parents direct knowledge.

Because after all research has shown that teenagers are more likely to engage in violent and criminal activity.

And scientists have found that teenagers exhibit incomplete development mechanisms in the brain that modulate impulsive behavior.
