Schumer's words were a direct threat to Kavanaugh and Gorsich. Schumer even yelled the threat at the top of his lungs. If Kavanaugh and his family had been killed by that guy, which still could happen, I wonder if Schumer would have been charged for insurrection and perhaps some kind of other charges.

(It turns out the Proud Boys were already there because they knew what the plan for the day was: attack the Capitol.)

I think Schumer was talking about a political price, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that those 22 seconds avoid a lot of context that would back that up. Care to post the whole speech?

I think if you watch the hearings tonight and going forwards, you will hear plenty of evidence that there was a grand conspiracy to steal the presidency from the winner of the 2020 election. Part of that was the attack on the Capitol. That was far worse, and it was planned in advance.

I also think that someone who turns himself in to the police was never that great a threat. (Not to mention that Ms Ford has had to pay for her own security and move house multiple times, why shouldn't Kavanaugh?)

By the way, did he actually commit a crime until he threatened the justice's life, which was after he turned himself in? Carrying a gun around is just perfectly normal behaviour, and he might have been planning to fix something with the duct tape and cable ties. :)
